Dieses ätherische Öl wird durch Wassedampfdestillation aus den Blättern des Lorbeerbaumes (Lauraceae) gewonnen. Er wächst kultiviert, aber auch wild in Italien, Jugoslawien, Griechenland, Ungarn, Türkei und in Mittel- und Südamerika.
