• Saint Anthony of Padua is one of the most popular and beloved saints in the Catholic  Church, and surely one of the busiest.
  
• Best known as the Patron Saint of Lost and Stolen Items, it's hard to find someone who hasn't asked for his help in locating something. Stories of His Miraculous Intercession abound in every country among the Faithful, both for Finding Lost Things and for many other Intentions.
• One would be hard-pressed to find an Italian National or of Italian Ancestory who does not revere and love Saint Anthony of Padua. Despite his Portuguese Heritage, the Italians lay claim to this Miracle-Worker Status who lived most of his life in Italy and died in Padua, a little west of Venice.
• Mexican Ex Voto Paintings oil paintings were executed by multiple Mexican Artists between 1800 and 1940, which were used by many Devout Religious Followers to petition Christ, the Virgin Mary and Saints for Healing Miracles, or to express Gratitude for Acts of Divine Mercy.
  
• In rural areas of Mexico, Ex Votos were commissioned paintings on a small scale and were most often created with oil paint on zinc roofing tin.
  
• Each Ex Voto depicted a castotrphic or traumatic Event in the Follower's or the Follower's Family Life, as well as the Saint to whom the vow was made and who assisted in granting the Miracle.
  
• Dimensions: approx 9.5" x 8.5" FRAMED.
  
• Date unknown but most likely Late 19th Century to Early 20th Century at least.
  
• The Prayer, Name of the Devotee and a Recollection of the Event were not written on the face of the Ex Voto, but the style and High Artistry exhibited by the Painter would indicate Late 19th Century.
  
• Condition: the Panel of the Ex Voto is in good condition. Colors remain bright and powerful with very little paint loss and few scratches. The script below is illegible and faded orver time and decades of Devotional Use.
