Largely self-produced with assistance from Paul Leavitt, the record features a revised lineup-including guitarist Matt Kennedy and drummer Ben Cato-that contributed to a thicker, "wall-of-sound" aesthetic, moving further away from their pop-punk roots into "anthem emo" territory.The album is defined by it's raw intensity, mirroring the severe internal turmoil the band was facing during recording.
