"One of the finest releases from not only this appellation but the entire Southern Rhône" Jeb Dunnuck

"Tasted just before bottling, both were very impressive, among the best wines I've ever tasted from this oft-overlooked appellation." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocat

"One of the finest releases from not only this appellation but the entire Southern Rhône, the 2016 Lirac La Reine Des Bois is a unique blend of close to equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre that’s brought up in 30% used barrels, the balance in stainless steel. It literally jumps from the glass with loads of blackberry and currant fruits, graphite, charred meats, and peppery herbs. Deeply colored, medium to full-bodied, with sensational purity, give bottles a year or two and enjoy through 2028. It’s another brilliant wine from this estate that’s landed on both feet after the passing of winemaker Christophe Delorme in 2015." Jeb Dunnuck

"The nose is broad, something of a power house, shows grilling, bacon fat, slinky, deep black berry fruits, holds its depth well, shows garrigue airs, herbs, sparks of variety and implication here. The palate is vigorous, full, engaging, runs with black berry fruits, and the texture is silky, the tannins ripe and well infused, adding their couch of support to the finishing moments. It has a bounteous potential, and good length with liqueur red fruits on the close. This is long." John Livingstone-Learmonth MW

A golden green in the glass this wine offers aromas of white and yellow fruits, including notes of citrus, apricot and pear. A round palate with a very long finish showcases  fruity flavours and results in a highly elegant wine.

Organic and Biodynamic from old vines on the border of Chateauneuf du Pape.

Situated only 15 km northwest from Avignon in the heartland of the Southern Rhône valley, the Lirac appellation has struggled to make a name for itself when competing with the nearby Châteauneuf-du-pape. The good news is the quality of the red Lirac wines, they now rival there illustrious of Chateauneuf du Pape and on average 40% cheaper!

As previously written about with other wines from the Southern Rhone, the 2016 vintage in the Southern Rhône produced red wines of exquisite balance and concentration with the requisite freshness and fine tannic structure to allow the best wines to age gracefully over many years, while being accessible early on. A vintage to buy!

Brilliant design and features.
Color: Black
Far better than yesteryears models. Very powerful with a lot of cork torque! The long USB cord is a HUGE plus to reach distant outlets. Charging base is another big plus. Don't forget to see the video of the girl who is promoting it but cannot figure out how to use it!! Hilarious.

Best Wine Opener We’ve Tried
Color: Black
My husband and I like to think of ourselves as wine connoisseurs, and over the years we’ve been through dozens of wine openers. So far, this one is our favorite. It’s pure magic—smooth, easy, and reliable every time. The charging base keeps everything organized. We’ve been using it for several months now without a single issue. It feels well-made and has definitely earned a permanent spot on our counter. It works so seamlessly that now we both want to open the wine.

A Surprisingly Premium, No-Nonsense Corkscrew That Just Works
Color: Silver, Number of Items: 1
I’ve gone through more corkscrews than I care to admit. Some cute, some clever, some that looked great on the countertop but absolutely fell apart the second they met a stubborn cork. This opener immediately impressed me with how solid and dependable it feels. The zinc alloy gives it a weight and sturdiness that you notice the moment you pick it up, and it has that “built to last” vibe you don’t usually get at this price point. What I love most is that there’s no learning curve, no gimmicks, and no unnecessary parts that will eventually loosen or snap. It’s the kind of tool that feels familiar but elevated. The turning mechanism is smooth, controlled, and surprisingly effortless, even on older bottles where the cork can be unpredictable. The wings rise evenly, don’t wobble, and give you a ton of leverage, so removing the cork feels almost too easy. It also doubles as a great bottle opener, and I appreciate that it actually feels like a bottle opener you can trust rather than a flimsy add-on tucked in as an afterthought. If you want something flashy for your bar cart, this may not be the centerpiece. But if you’re looking for a reliable, heavy-duty corkscrew that quietly outperforms the pretty ones, this is it. An incredibly solid value and easily one of the most dependable openers I’ve owned.
