They still operate from their Eastfield Works on the Seamer Road, in Scarborough where they remained a family firm until being bought by Alexander Dennis in 2007. National Express, the nationwide UK transport company, found its roots as a brand in 1972, bringing together many independent travel providers under the National Express name, since when they have acquired numerous transport companies including bus, coach, rail and tram services. Today, National Express operates not only through the UK but also overseas, where its operations extend as far as the USA and Canada.
The Elite is Plaxton's flagship coach, decorated in the signature red, white and blue National Express livery, operated by Selwyns Travel Ltd, Runcorn, Cheshire. This model has the registration YN10 FKV .
