Rain On Dust is Rf Shannon's third album in three years. It expands on their desert soul sound, which has also been described as deconstructed Americana, mellow psych, and shoegaze country. This album is their first with Keeled Scales, coming quickly on the heels of Trickster Blues, (released in May 2018 via Cosmic Dreamer). With this album they've swum even deeper into the great underground rivers of American song and have put to tape timeless, memorable songs that sink in on first listen. Instant classic "Wild Rose Pass" has always been right there. "Angeline" and "Don't Be Shy" have nods to 60s rock, with deep choruses, shuffled drums, and gorgeous harmonies. "Ballad of a Thin Place" is a woozy dark ballad that would have been right at home on the "Rolling Thunder Revue." Rf Shannon is a band that defies easy classification and bridges multiple genres, not an easy feat. At the heart of these songs is strong songwriting and musicianship. Fans of Bill Withers, Woods, Jackson C. Frank, Knife in the Water, and The Band would be right home at with this album.

Please go back to the original ball design and squeaker!!

Review update: I am updating my review for a few reasons. 1) The ball I ordered below was the 3rd time I purchased it. I originally bought one years ago, Pre-Covid, for my old pitty. My now Corgi, Jett loved that ball so I got a 2nd one for times when we couldn’t find the original. Well, the ball was slightly larger, the squeaker stopped working, and Jett preferred the original. 2) The newest one doesn’t squeak at all and is also slightly larger than the original. The original fell down the sewer drain that is in our backyard, and we lost the 2nd ball, so we ordered the ball again. My husband ended up having to retrieve the original from the sewer drain because Jett would pace around the sewer looking for the original. I ended up returning the 3rd ball because Jett doesn’t want anything to do with it & it doesn’t squeak. The video I provided is Jett squeaking the original that is at least 5-6 years old. I highly recommend the company go back to the original design that has not only stood the test of time and heavy use but is also the preferred size and for some reason has a much better, more reliable squeaker.
I bought 2 of these balls for my Corgi mix and another for my son’s girlfriend’s Golden Retriever. Both dogs love the ball. They love the squeak and the ball is very durable. The ball doesn’t easily squeak by hand but will when they bite down on the ball or when it bounces. Speaking of, it has a decent amount of bounce to it too. Our dog loves to jump in the air to catch it after it bounces off the ground. I highly recommend this ball for medium and large dogs.

Great fun for our dogs!

My dogs can’t get enough of this very noisy ball. We have one outside and one in their playroom. It is very noisy. It is very hard. So, I’d say a room with fine furniture is not the place for it. Ours bang it around pretty good.
Our boxer did split one, biting it. But, she’s a serious chewer! Our other dog carries it around sometimes but hasn’t been able to damage it yet. So, I’d say for most chewers it’s going to last a long time.
It’s a great toy but in most households I’d say basement or outside. Again, it’s hard and did ding a few baseboards.

Durable, Rugged, Dog Approved Fun!!

This thing is durable and worth every penny! I bought this over 5 years ago for my rescue and he STILL loves it. He plays with it near daily and it's got a LOT of love-work scrapes, scratches, and scuffs. But it still works perfectly!! Because he's on the medium side, he can't quite bite down on it. Not sure how it'd hold up to heavy chewers with larger mouths. But he can play with this solo for ages and has SO MUCH fun. We love to listen to his "conversations" as he gets into it with this ball. It's been a winner since the day we took it out of the box. It's also the longest lasting toy we still have! Everything else either wore out, was destroyed, or broke. This battery-free ball has made the cut for us.
