As it matures, the leaves grow to be 1-2 feet long and 5 inches wide at the base, tapering towards the tips and featuring prominent teats and teeth. This open plant has few leaves, making it an ideal choice for full sun exposure. It is also hardy, able to withstand temperatures as low as 25 F, and should be irrigated only occasionally. Other names for this variety include chalk agave and rancho tambor agave.
