After her first husband was killed in World War II, Toni married a man who affirmed his manhood in two basic ways: getting drunk and beating her up, and leaving her with more and more babies to raise without help. This is her story.

About the Author

A New Yorker born and bred, Toni Monti grew up in a part of Manhattan known as Little Italy. Today, in a well-earned retirement, she lives in Florida. She is particularly interested in sewing for pleasure and in professional singing and dancing. Her children have all survived their tumultuous childhood because of her boundless love and attention.

Instead of going to a shrink, says Toni Monti, I did my own therapy by writing this book.
