LOOK INSIDE

Thirty-three chapters are included, each of which ends with a "Your Turn to Play" segment with three or four questions. Answers are provided on the next page for students to go over themselves after attempting to solve the problems. "The Bridge" review questions are given after every five chapters, and provide transitions between concepts as well as a means of assessment.

For parents who choose to use these sections as evaluation tools, it is recommended that students score at least 90% (9 out of 10 questions) before moving on. If students don't succeed, they can try again with a total of five different sets of ten problems. The book concludes with "The Final Bridge" which features twenty questions (with five tries again provided). Answers to the Bridge questions are provided in the back of the book.

Decimals and Percents covers: Number Systems, Adding and Subtracting Decimals, Multiplying by Ten, Functions and Inverse Functions, Pi, Multiplying Decimals, Whole Numbers, Squaring a Number, Subtracting Mixed Units, Sets and Subsets, Union and Intersection of Sets, Rules of Divisibility, Division of Decimals, Repeating Decimals, Bar Graphs, Prime and Composite Numbers, Consecutive Numbers, the Goldbach Conjecture, Area of a Circle, Dollars vs. Cents, Pie Charts, Conversion between Percents/ Fractions/ Decimals, 40% of 15, 30% off, Distance Equals Rate Times Time, 15% more, Area of a Triangle, Square Roots, Area of a Parallelogram, 13 Is What Percent of 52, Ratio, Ordered Pairs, Graphing, Negative Numbers, Elapsed Time, Probability.

Life of Fred is a unique, complete (not supplemental), math program that uses a highly engaging narrative to teach math without fear and with enjoyment. Students follow the life of Fred Gauss (a math professor who grows up to the age of six), who has many humorous, unlikely, and zany adventures over the course of the curriculum. Math becomes relevant and important because the need for math occurs in Fred's life (and he sees math everywhere). Witty and truly entertaining, these books will engage students in a way unlike any other math program - --while also instilling a solid understanding of the principles of mathematics without an abundance of repetitive drills. This series is perfect for inquisitive students who struggle with the relevance of math, or anyone looking for a creative approach to mathematic thinking!

192 pages, indexed; hardcover, non-consumable textbook with Smyth-sewn binding. Students write their answers on separate paper. Answers are also included in the text and written directly to the student.

Great way to support summer learning!
Format: Paperback
I absolutely love the Summer Bridge Activities: Bridging Grades 3–4! This workbook is a fantastic way to keep kids engaged and learning over the summer break. The activities are well-designed, fun, and educational, providing the perfect balance between reinforcing what they’ve already learned and getting them excited for the next school year. The layout is visually appealing, with colorful pages and interactive exercises that make learning feel like play. What I appreciate most is how it covers key subjects like math, reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in bite-sized chunks that kids can easily manage. My child enjoyed doing a little bit each day, and I noticed significant improvement in their confidence as they completed each activity. It's great that this workbook also includes helpful tips for parents to guide their kids through the exercises. Overall, this is a must-have resource for parents looking to keep their children sharp and engaged during the summer while still having fun. Highly recommend!

Great for growing minds!
I love these workbooks! We used to buy these at a local store until it closed. They help kids retain what they learned in school over the summer. The worksheet usually takes 5-10 minutes a day.
