Bilge IQ Intelligent Bilge Pump Control

A humble electric bilge pump is installed on just about every boat, but boat owners don’t know much about its operation and run times – or even if it is still functional. Bilge iQ from Digital Yacht aims to change this and brings the latest NMEA 2000 and Wi-Fi monitoring plus switching control technology to any electric bilge pump.

Bilge iQ integrates with NMEA 2000 and Victron networks for complete bilge pump management

Bilge iQ fits in minutes to existing systems, which may incorporate a standard ON-OFF-AUTO panel (with an integrated float switch) or to any manual system.

It also connects to the boat’s NMEA 2000 network, so the multi-function display can use a standard switching command to turn the pump on and off, and also display the pump’s status or fault based on an industry-standard NMEA 2000 pop-up alert. It also integrates with Victron’s Cerbo GX systems and VRM cloud monitoring solution.

Plus! It has a wireless interface enabling a phone or tablet to connect and display a history of pump operations. The actual current draw of the pump is also displayed in real time to show that the pump is operating correctly. Standard alerts also allow for remote monitoring.

Make for a better boating environment, too

You can add a 3rd party bilge water discharge filter to your system to ensure oil, debris, and contaminants are not discharged overboard.

The filters require periodic replacement for correct operation.  Bilge iQ provides the boat owner with accurate pump run time data to allow economic and periodic filter replacement.

Features:

  • Control and monitor your bilge pump with NMEA 2000 (MFD compatible) and wireless interfaces
  • Customizable alerts for the boat’s NMEA 2000 network
  • Wireless interface for phone and tablet connectivity
  • Works with any pump or switch arrangement
  • Monitors the actual current draw of the pump to confirm correct operation
  • Compatible with Victron Cerbo GX systems for control and cloud monitoring
  • Optimize replacement of bilge water discharge filters with true running time and flow rates
  • Optional additional float switch for high-level water alarm
  • Fail-safe operation always allows for manual override

Beware of the Top Button!!😁
Style: M705
A smooth but weighted feel on a mouse pad. I have mice that move with a much lighter touch, but this is great for the computer I use with my main TV screen. Beware of the top damnable button, the one just before the scroll wheel. It turns off the clicky graduations you wheel as you roll the scroll wheel with your fingertip. When used it unleashes a whirling dervish of a gremlin, your screen will continue to scroll after you want it to stop. Sometimes it will start on its own! Incantations, voodoo, chick bones, curses and magic wands have no effect. Yelling seems to make it worse. There is no other cure other than to push the top button from Hades again. Clicks from the two main buttons are easily audible but not obnoxious. The side buttons for screen forward & back work very well also. This is my second one of these, the first stopped moving smoothly on a pad, no amount of polishing seemed to help so I retired it.

Important Info for Connecting Replacement Mouse
Style: M705
I purchased the MK705 mouse to replace the same model that had simply worn out after over 13 years of faithful service. The MK700/710 Logitech keyboard is still going strong, albeit with a few worn keys. I did however run into an issue when installing the new mouse. At first I left the old unifying receiver that came with the old mouse plugged into a usb port. I installed the batteries in the new mouse, turned it on, and found that it would not work. I figured it needed the new unifying receiver, so I turned off the keyboard and mouse and plugged the new receiver into the same USB port. The new mouse then worked but the keyboard would not. I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so I phoned Logitech support. The gentleman I spoke with walked me through the connection process, which was done on their website "logiwebconnect.com". Should you run into the same issue, the process is simple. You probably won't need any help from tech support, but if you do, they were easy to get in touch with.

Still the champ
Style: M705
Love it!!! Got this originally when it first came out. The people who talk about the scroll wheel are not very smart. It has a button to switch from hyper to regular scrolling. I do use a mouse pad. So it moves fine. Feels very comfortable in your hand. Obviously this is not for gaming. Great mouse for your home office computer.

Dependable, Reliable

As advertised. Logitech, best mouse for your hard-earned cheddar! It’s not that the (years) old Logitech mouse failed in any operational way, it just got that gummy, sticky surface texture that’s impossible to remove. While shopping for a replacement I noticed an off-brand mouse/keyboard combo and thought, “hey, 2 for 1”…mistake. All was well for about three weeks, long enough that when the gremlins arrived I didn’t immediately associate the new hardware. For the purposes of this discussion, gentle reader, know that I run legacy (what I affectionately refer to as, “Lazarus”) builds. Rigs that started life running Windows Vista/7, died, and that now, resurrected, run 10 and 11, and all that that implies. So, when a mouse started stuttering, of course I thought it was a gremlin in the machine, right? I spent more days than I am comfortable sharing with you pouring over processes and background apps, and registry trims…before Accam’s Razor suggested I eliminate the mouse as a variable. Changing the battery was ineffective, but when I swapped in the ooold Logitech…Yahtzee/Bingo/Booyah…smooth and precise…butter! All I needed was a new Logitech mouse. So, if you’re here you likely are having mouse issues of your own, or you just need one that works…this is it! 😉
