A comprehensive and practical guide to the ancient oracle based on the alphabet of the Druids.

- Describes the symbolism and mythology of the 20 tree letters and their magical correspondences.

- Includes instructions on how to make your own Ogam divination sticks, cast the oracle, and perceive omens.

- Provides historical background and bibliographic references to the Druidic mythology ruling this 1,500-year-old oracle.

The ancient Ogam alphabet is a magical and mysterious script, the Celtic equivalent of the runes that can teach us about our fate and future. Named after woodland trees, Ogam's 20 tree letters all have unique wisdom to impart that is linked to figures and themes from Celtic mythology.

The author addresses three major areas in this book: Ogamlore, the history of this 1500-year-old oracle of the Celtic Druids; Ogamfews, the meaning of the individual tree letters, their magic, characteristics, folklore, and related stories; and Ogamcasting, the practical art of Ogam divination, which includes spreads, castings, and how to create your own Ogam set. With these tools of ancient Celtic wisdom, readers will receive insights and guidance on how to maneuver through life's questions and challenges.

So good
Format: Kindle
Read this for the Trans Rights Readathon, and it's so good. While it's not an explicitly "trans" narrative, it is clearly about the often restrictive and even harmful nature of enforcing gender roles. Kids know what they like, be it sports or art or magic or all of it; it's adults, like Aster's entire family and culture, who have created and clung to dividing kids between boy things and girl things. The art is perfect for this story, and very dynamic. Every character is different and recognizable, even in different forms. One of my favorites.

relatable
Format: Paperback
The first part of Witch Boy is defintely our favorite!!! My daughter loved the story of bullying inside a family and how the character found support outside. She quotes the book whenever we encounter a person who feels "different" or not as they’re supposed to be, or not following societal expectations.

Great for all ages
Format: Hardcover
The first time I read this book was when I was student teaching. I was going through a time of change in my life and this book really hit me in my feelings. I started to tear up! I love this book so much that I bought my own personal copy of this book in 2016 and read it to my students every year. It is by far my favorite children's book.

Terrific seasonal book that can be read year-round
Format: Hardcover
I always love a seasonal book that can be read year-round, and much like Sweep, Little Tree is a wonderful fall book that isn’t so fall-themed it can only be read in September and October. A story of change, growing up, and letting go, a story of encouraging friends through words, presence, and patience, Little Tree will please children and adults alike! Ages 5-8.
