One of America's most important and influential naturalists, John Muir was a formative figure in the country's conservation movement and the establishment of the national park system. He was also a gifted storyteller, and in this series of essays he reminisces about his early years. Muir relates the circumstances that inspired and nurtured his fascination with the natural world, from his boyhood in Scotland to his years at the University of Wisconsin, where he "spent so many hungry and happy and hopeful days."Born in Dunbar, Scotland, in 1838 and sent to school at the age of three, Muir studied Latin, French, and mathematics in the classroom and the Bible at home, under the tutelage of his strict father. At 11, his family emigrated to a frontier community in central Wisconsin, where the elder Muir purchased a small property and converted it into farmlands, carving cultivated fields out of the wilderness with the backbreaking labor of his children. Muir's natural curiosity shines throughout these recollections of prairie life, recapturing the intelligence, imagination, and stamina that blossomed despite harsh conditions. His mechanical ability helped him find a way into the wider world; when he exhibited his complicated wooden clocks and other remarkable inventions at the Wisconsin State Fair, he met individuals who served as his mentors and encouraged him to attend the university. Told in his own captivating voice, these memoirs offer fascinating insights into frontier life and the making of a great explorer and naturalist.

Provides privacy without being stanoffish
Color: Steel, Color: Steel
Its a perfect way to get a lil bit of privacy, its the color steel. Its a little darker than the picture but it works. Free standing doesn't attach to furniture and takes maybe 10 mins to put together. It's about 5 feet tall. Very lightweight cover slides over the steel frame and zips st the bottom.

Perfect for my office space!!
It's a well packaged item including a simple tool set and a clear instruction. I put it together just by myself in about 15-20 minutes without any problems. The base is solid pieces of metal, and it stands very sturdy. It's also light enough for me to move it around in my office to serve different purposes.
I like the color and the quality of the fabric. It blends in with my office space perfectly. I needed it as a partition between my desk and the door, and the background for my video conference call. Surprisingly, it can also deflect the air coming down from the AC vent behind my desk. I didn't expect it to 100% soundproofing (not its purpose), but I feel it did absorb some humming sound from my mini fridge behind my desk.
I would recommend this to my colleague.

Perfect for my company's temporary needs
Color: Gray, Size: 72" wide, 66" Tall
My company ordered multiples of these dividers to separate desks in much smaller temporary space we had to use after our offices were flooded in August 2023. (Yeah, I know - just getting around to reviewing them now!) These fit the bill perfectly. Granted a bit of privacy so we weren't staring at the employee next to us. Easy to put together; excellent value.
