After their son Etregan marries the new queen, his jealous friend Bartleby begins to taunt his rule. To teach Bartleby a lesson in honor and respect for others, Etregan banishes him to a frozen planet to help a weaker race survive the winter. However, Bartleby uses his sentence as an opportunity to amass wealth for himself and enslave the people he was sent to serve. When Etregan learns of Bartleby's wicked deeds, an epic and eventful war is waged.
