On her 2014 release, bass virtuoso and seven-time IBMA bass player of the year Missy Raines explores a new path for her musical vision. For anyone familiar with Raines' years of work in the Bluegrass arena, NEW FRONTIER will seem like a radical departure, but for Raines herself it's the natural extension of her musical curiosity and adventurous spirit. NEW FRONTIER is entirely a vocal album featuring Raines' dusky, emotive alto layered among the cool grooves and expansive sound atmospheres provided by guitarist Ethan Ballinger, mandolin/acoustic guitarist Jarrod Walker and drummer/percussionist Josh Fox. The album's ten tracks draw from songs written by Pierce Pettis, Sarah Siskind, Ed Snodderly, and even Raines herself, and borrow from Americana, Newgrass, indie rock and acoustic jazz. This album is certain to expand Raines' profile in roots music and surprise anyone who thought her talents were limited to the bluegrass and new acoustic music. More power, slightly lower (8%) MPG.

Installed on a 2.0 liter Subaru Impreza.
I drive up/down the I5 in california 3-4 times a year. For those that don't know there is about a 200 mile flat stretch where everyone runs at 75-85mph.
With various filters (FRAM, BOSCH, Subaru OEM), I would consistently get 29.8 mpg. Once I installed the K&N, I could feel the car pulling with a bit more power, but I noticed that I was getting about 27.5 mpg.
Totally worth it as the impreza is a little under powered and I don't drive many miles (6k/year) but if you are putting a lot of miles on your car, you may want to have more mpg.

Last December we bought our first new car in 21 years and the first thing I did is stock up on cabin and engine air filters. I've got nothing against dealership OEM parts and pieces but what I do have an issue with is the prices. Luckily, we all have a bit of control over access to OEM quality parts and pieces at significantly more reasonable prices via Amazon. This filter and it's matching cabin filter are excellent in value and take less than 5 minutes to replace. Compare that to paying the hourly rate at your dealer plus the dealership retail price and you'll do what I did and stock up on these two filters. Definitely recommended.
