There was a time when ringtones were important. At first, they simply identified the few who actually owned cell phones, before the possibility emerged of distinguishing oneself by choosing a cool ringtone. In May 2014, the Doofe Musik (Stupid Music: Songs for Dreaming, Sedation and Forgetting) festival took place at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin. As part of the HKW's Anthropocene Project, the festival focused on escapism and the special function of music when retreating from reality. HKW curator Detlef Diederichsen and Sound Studies Lab principal investigator Holger Schulze decided to focus not only on music that music-lovers usually hate, e.g. Schlager music, easy listening, light Jazz; but also on ringtones. The audio logo of Deutsche Telekom has been part of Germany's mobile phone culture from the very beginning, so it acted as a starting point from which to question the usual conceptual understanding of ringtones. Using Christian Kellersmann's idea of the Pocket Symphony, Diederichsen and Schulze invited ten artists to come up with adaptations of Telekom's audio logo. The results were performed for the first time during Stupid Music and once again in October 2014, when most of the recordings on this album were made. The short motif, as simple and unforgettable as it is, is ideal musical material. Everyone knows it; everyone has some sort of connection to it, and these ten different versions open up the most varied possibilities for associations. It is time to take the ringtone seriously again. As the most reduced yet most widely available form of music in the world, it contains enormous unrealized potential. Includes tracks by John Kameel Farah, Ana Maria Rodriguez, Zeitblom, Eliav Brand, Guido Mobius, Juliana Hodkinson, Alex Paulick, Ari Benjamin Meyers, Adi Gelbart, and Patric Catani.

Outstanding TV backlight edition

This is an excellent addition to a TV backlight. If you go into the GOVEE app you can sync this device to a TV backlight with a camera. You can add up to five lights.
I recommend this for either a TV backlight or general ambience in the room at night.
UPDATE 2025: I actually have 4 of these.
3 of them I synced with the TV strip light/camera using the GOVEE app for TV watching.
The 4th one I use is on ambience lamp.
These are made very durable/easy to set up. These things are not cheaply made

Look nice and were an easy setup.

Simple and do what they are supposed to do. I use them to add a bit of flare to my desktop setup for online meetings, etc. If I had to nitpick, I'd say cabling is always interesting to route to reduce desk clutter, but I am not going to remove a star for what pretty much has to be. They look nice too.

Good, but missing white (ww) hues hurt performance

I bought these lights just a little over a year ago, and overall I’m pleased with them. I bought them because standard strip lighting does not work well with the shape of my ultra flat TV, something I did not consider on purchasing the TV.
The lighting effects that these can produce are really impressive, at times you can see what appears to be the individual LEDs and the effects are somewhat more granular or pixelated than other lights from GOVEE.
The issue I have with these lights is that they are not able to produce cool, white and warm white, and they do not render colors like other bulbs from GOVEE. Colors on these lights tend to be brighter than every other light source I have from Govee, including their lightbulbs and their floor lamps. Although I knew about the white rendering, I did not realize how annoying it would be to see warm, white and cool, white rendered poorly on these TV lights. If you want to truly seamless and integrated looking product, I suggest you look elsewhere as these aren’t quite there. If you don’t care or are using these in a room where you don’t have any other light sources from Govee, then go for it — you’ll love them.

Stylish way to stay organized!

This tray is a perfect way to keep your everyday items organized and easy to find when you are getting ready for your day. No more wondering where you've put your keys, your glasses, your wallet, your watch or your every day wear jewelry like your wedding ring (if you have to remove it at night due to hands swelling or similar). This tray allows my husband to be ready to go quickly if we decide to spontaneously go somewhere. Its compact enough to fit on a night stand or a dresser, but still provides adequate spaces for your every day pocket items like a multi-tool or pocket knife, spare change, etc. Its well made and stylish too.
