Cows have a special place in my heart among the animals I enjoy painting. Cows were the first animal I ever saw when I was a child. When I was a baby, my grandparents had a cow farm, so I grew up around them and got to know them in an amicable way. Each cow was distinctive; some were more friendly, and some more playful. Then there was Dora, always stoic and a little aloof. I got to know each one personally and celebrate their individuality in my art.
