Natural killer cells are vital to the health of our immune system and act as our body's "first responders" during times of crisis. These aggressive cells play an important role in fighting cancer as well as viral-infected cells.

As part of our innate immune system, natural killer cells don't have to recognize a specific abnormality (antigen) on viral-infected cells or cancer cells before they are called into action to perform one of two functions. NK cells can either be Cytotoxic (Cell Killing) or perform Immunoregulation (Regulate Immune Function).
