Assorted Grade A Koi Carp Cyprinus CarpioKoi fish are a very popular species of carp that have been bred and kept as ornamental fish for hundreds of years. The koi keeping hobby dates back as far as 200BC when the Magoi carp (meaning ‘common carp’) was brought to Japan from China. The Magoi carp was originally bred as a food source, but people quickly started keeping them as pets once skin colour mutations began appearing naturally. It wasn’t until the late 19th century and early 20th century, however, that koi keeping became a popular hobby. Until then, only the richest aristocrats and royalty kept the Magoi carp as ornamental pets rather than eating them.
The koi keeping hobby as we know it started with the Asagi koi which was first recognised as an ornamental carp around 160 years ago. This koi was often kept by the carp farmers due to its interesting patterns and prompted the popularity of the hobby which led to all sorts of people keeping carp fish, not just the upper class. Shortly after the Asagi had become popular, other mutations in the carp began popping up and farmers began to keep more and more different carp fish.
Of course, at this point, the farmers decided to give these fish a different name to differentiate the pet Magoi carp from the Magoi carp for eating. Thus, the ornamental carp were named ‘Nishikigoi’ which literally translates as ‘swimming jewel’ and basically means beautiful fish. Over time, with more and more people joining the hobby, the word was shortened to ‘koi’ which is the commonly used word nowadays.

Chuckit medium rebound balls
Size: Medium
My 8 month old German shepherd dog loves these balls. They are easy to throw, they bounce great, they are very chewable! She keeps one in her mouth most of the time. It satisfies her need to chew and she does not chew other things. She drops it in the water and lets the hole fill up and drinks that way. The only problem that has caused is suction in her mouth and difficulty in dislodging it for her. However, she would be lost without it!

These are definitely indestructible
Size: Medium
Both of my dogs can destroy a ball in a matter of minutes if I let them play with them (supervised) as is. Well not with these balls. They are the ONLY ones I have found that are 100% indestructible. Please only let your dogs play with these as a toy when supervised though. They go really far when throwing them, so both dogs get a good amount of running and exercise with these. I also bought these because they have the hole in the middle of the ball which is very important in the event that a dog gets one stuck at the back of their throat. This allows them to breath unlike those without this hold. It's an unlikely event, but as dog owners, we all need to be aware of this and educate ourselves on what to do if this SHOULD happen. This isn't a scare tactic, nor a reflection of this particular brand, it can happen with any type of ball. My two dogs are about 45ish lbs and the size is perfect for them, I don't want anything smaller than this. They love them. There is no annoying squeak. Really easy to wash after use. Some balls take forever to get the slimy saliva off, but these don't.

Great for heavy chewers! Belgian Malinois Approved!
Color: E) 8-Pack 2.5" Balls (Yellow)
I bought these 6 months ago because my dog kept loosing his Kong balls. These were such a better price ball (but still had good reviews) that I thought I would give them a try. They are wonderful. After six months of chewing and chasing and playing with a Belgian Malinois, the two that I’ve gotten out are still in great condition. The bright color makes them easier to find, so none have been permanently lost yet.
They are bouncier and a little bit lighter weight compared to the Kong balls of the same size, which I honestly appreciate because my maligator likes to shoot them at my feet.
So far the material seems high quality and I feel safe letting the dog chew on it for hours on end.
The 8 pack was cheaper than 2 Kong balls. A great deal for a great product!!
