You might not know his name yet, but you soon will. Windmill – aka 26-year old Matthew Thomas Dillon – is emerging as one of the country’s best singer-songwriters, his music a heady distillation of US indie, early ‘70s melancholia and twisted folk-pop. Born and raised in Newport Pagnell, Dillon’s music has always been his escape. Puddle City Racing Lights may be his first ‘proper’ release, but it follows countless homemade albums recorded on a £140 four track and intended for only him and a few close friends to listen to.

‘I used to make demos in my bedroom, my bed covered in keyboards,’ says Dillon. ‘I would imagine what kind of record I would be able to make with an acoustic piano, real strings, real drums and a studio… and earlier this year I got to do it.’

The resulting album is a pivotal part of Windmill’s blossoming. Making his stage debut as recently as 2005, Dillon has made a great leap in a short space of time, producing an astonishingly good debut album within two years of that tentative first step into the public domain. Echoing the greats of US indie – Built To Spill, Guided By Voices, Mercury Rev and Flaming Lips – and the stars of the Canadian scene, Arcade Fire, Puddle City Racing Lights is a record that demands repeat plays. And this accomplished debut is completely the vision of one man.

‘I have such a clear image in my mind about how Windmill songs should be and I had concerns about getting other people involved,” he says. “This was literally the first time that anyone other than myself would be involved in making my music.’

It was, he says, a scary prospect, but one made easier by a crack team of musicians (members of The Earlies’ live band and former Alfie member Ian Smith) and co-producer, Tom Knott. Together, they whipped up a storm of lush strings, clashing percussion and cacophonous vocals.

‘Tom and I built up a lot of creative trust from the beginning, which was really important,’ says Matthew. ‘He also tolerated me when I was bouncing off the walls.’

Dillon himself provides the album’s key instrument, the piano. ‘I was determined to make a piano album,’ he says. `It’s the instrument I have always been connected to. I used to buy records and skip through the tracks until a killer piano riff kicked in. Piano, huge drums and finding a different way of saying things – that’s Windmill to me.’

They work really well!
Size: 50 Count (Pack of 1)
These makeup removers work great for taking off my makeup. I always wash my face after with a professional skin care line with microfiber cloths, so if you are looking for something to do all the things, maybe they aren't for you, but I need something to remove makeup, and they do the best job!

Best make up removing wipes.
Size: 50 Count (Pack of 1)
These are the only makeup removing wipes I can use. They don’t burn my eyes and they remove the makeup very well. I do recommend staring them upside down so that the pads that are at the other end stay moist and are able to remove the make up without any issue. Highly recommend. Durable and don’t tear. Great product. Great price point. I have them on a subscribe and save.

Disappointed with these cleansing cloths!
Size: 50 Count (Pack of 1)
The cloths are nice and soft, however it’s very difficult to pull out just 1 sheet, I usually end up pulling several sheets and they cannot be put back in the container. This is just a waste of money and I will never buy them again!

I double cleanse. I find that mineral oil based makeup removers are hard to wash off. Oil based ones are nourishing and easier to remove but are all very dissimilar. I find formulations with active ingredient CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDES high on the list are the best for my skin type. Combination/Oily(summer). RetinA/Retinoid , glycolic, Vitamin c user. These formulations emulsify everything. No scrubbing or excessive rubbing. No funny skin irritants or slimy film left on skin. MY Favorites: La Roche-Posay Micellar Cleansing Water for Sensitive Skin [all skins even those using actives]#1 My Favorite All year. Black Opal Even True Skin Perfecting Cream Cleanser [Good for dry skin or winter time]Discontinued Clarins Cleansing Milk with Gentian (Combination or Oily Skin)[A opaque 'milk' texture for Truly oily skin not drying but not hydrating]#2 Summers mostly. Pricey but worth it. Emulsifies everything and rinses well. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser | Makeup Remover and Daily Face Wash for Oily Skin | Now Solutions Soothing rose facial cleansing oil[ Good for all skin types consistency is 'thin'ish'] #3 I like the texture its an oil but doesn't feel 'congested' greasy to me. Sheamoisture Even Radiant raw honey 3n1 cleansing balm[Room temperature butter texture for dry and or dehydrated skin. Possibly good for skin needing nourishment(shea and honey). IMO this is a 'wipe off cleanser. Say with a 'wonder cloth' or some such. Not a daily use but has its place for sure. May work as a hydrating face mask. Think Estee Lauder Triple cream(discontinued). Nice size and affordable. Cerave Makeup removing cleanser Balm[ A 'waxy' looking balm that seems whipped. All skin types]. Does what it says. IMO a wipe off cleanser even thought directions say rinse. I rinse then wipe then cleanse. Sometimes i just go directly to cleansing. Note no CAPRYLIC/CAPRICTRICERIDE or its derivatives in the ingredient list. This one took time for me to remove but its not greasy. Has other solvents, emollients and emulsifiers. Definitely a gentle skin conditioner. A good product.
