ABOUT THE ART

This rare poster was produced in 1999, very early into KAWS's career with Tokion Magazine as part of a set of 4 high quality posters printed on thicker paper. It features a photo of supermodel Christy Turlington reworked by KAWS in his ad intervention style. It is one of the most well known images that he has produced and blurs the lines between fine art and commercial art.

The background is painted over and his 'Bendy' character with his signature XX'd-out eyes wraps around the model. His graffiti tag signature is printed within the image on the lower right.
