Natureflex film has been accredited biodegradable & compostable to 'BS EN 13432' and 'OK Compost'. These bags are also approved for Anaerobic digestion (ISO 15985) & Marine biodegradation ASTM D6691-09. The film has also been tested to ensure that once composted there are no adverse effects on the plant growth.

PLEASE NOTE - in the interest of hygiene we can only accept returns of food grade cellulose bags that have not been opened. Please ensure you order a sample first to decide if the bags are suitable for you.

Shelf Life - Keep dry and below 30°C (ideally between 17-23°C) and away from local heat source or direct sunlight. prolonged exposure to humidity - avoiding excessive heat, moisture and light will maximise shelf life. (If a bag is splashed with water they don't start to degrade immediately. If wiped off straight away they should come to no harm.)

What is Cellulose?

  • 100% Natural
  • Biodegradable & Compostable
  • Made in the UK
  • Suitable for food use
  • Derived from renewable wood pulp.
  • Heat-sealable
  • Excellent barrier to water vapour, gases and aromas
  • Resistant to oils and greases
  • Receptive to adhesives and tear-tapes
  • Excellent gloss and transparency

Cellulose is a substance from a plants cell wall, this can be extracted from waste plant material to produce the bio film used in these bags. Once used, these bags will biodegrade producing CO2 and H2O, these 2 compounds are combined with sunlight and converted into energy by plants in a process called photosynthesis. The resulting tree growth can then be used to produce more bags.

Although not as tough as petro-chemical based PVC bags our cellulose bags are more robust than our standard biofilm PLA card bags, making them more suitable for food use or bulkier items. Available as plain crimp bags or with a folded bottom for extra volume to accommodate larger products. The cellulose film is coated with a thin 'PVdC' coating making them suitable for food use and for heat sealing. They can be sealed using a normal heat sealer or by using our compostable sealers or stickers.

  • BIODEGRADATION INFO: Our cellulose bags are fully biodegradable and compostable which means that they break down to CO2, H2O and biomass which can then be reused in the eco system to make new plants. This will happen in either in home or commercial composting but in commercial composting the temperature will be higher and the process is much quicker. In a colder home composter it will just take longer.
  • PRODUCT SUITABILITY: These bags are primarily intended for food use but we do not guarantee the suitability of these products for any specific purpose. You must conduct your own tests on products before placing orders, to ensure that they are suitable for your requirements. We are happy to supply sample products for you to run your own tests on, before ordering or you can also try a sample before you place a large order. (All our recycled, renewable and compostable materials are natural products which liable to variation so we advise that all orders should be checked for any variation before using them.)
  • COMPOSTABLE FILM - CARE & HANDLING: Biofilm is a natural product designed to compost at end of use. However, it is not an exact like for like replacement for Polypropylene or PVC. It has different properties in use, and although it has a similar appearance, it is not as forgiving of rough treatment as the petro-chemical bags it replaces. Therefore, to get the best from compostable bags we recommend that they should be kept away from high temperatures and humidity, which along with careful handling and the correct storage will avoid damage to its appearance and maximise shelf life.

State of the Art Book!
This book was recommended to me by my graduate school professor as being the most up-to-date, most inclusive book on trauma therapy that exists today, and that it is! First, it is written in an organized and coherent manner. It is extraordinarily well written and engaging which is amazing for a text of this type. It contains information on just about every subject that a beginning trauma therapist as well as a well-seasoned therapist would want to know! This is an incredible book and my only criticism is that, knowing how much I shall be referring to it, it is only a paperback and I wish it were a hardcover so that it will withstand the test of time in better condition. The price is extraordinarily reasonable when one considers the cost of most textbooks these days. I highly, highly recommend this book as a MUST read for every trauma therapist, or trauma therapist in training. I cannot say enough excellent things about the Briere and Scott text. Buy it. You will not regret it for a moment! In addition, after purchasing the DSM-V, I can say that although this book was written before the DSM-V came out, it dovetails with it extremely well, and is a perfect book to purchase after getting the new DSM-V if you don't already have Principles of Trauma Therapy. It is for anyone who is a mandated reporter also, as I am. Presently, I'm a doctoral candidate in Special Education, and find that this book will be helpful there as well. As a person who has worked directly in Special Education for over 11 years, and have had professional contact with Special Needs children for over thirty years, this book is a must--for anyone who works with children, teens, (or adults who have just disclosed trauma) whether you are in Psychology or Special Education, or any allied field that makes you a mandated reporter. The book is a MUST HAVE.

Excellent book for students trying to grasp PTSD
As a professor teaching post traumatic stress reaction to graduate and undergraduate students, I was looking for a book that hit the basics along with some key pieces regarding assessment, diagnostic criteria, and examples that highlighted some of the subtleties associated with complex trauma. This book is well organized and not too overwhelming for people new and beginning the field and a nice refresher for seasoned clinicians. Easy to read, clearly outlined to build upon each subject, I found it both a solid read, affordable, and made it a required read for my course. Please note that I purchased this book way back October 12, 2013 but only now getting to put my thoughts in writing.

Great interventions and Trauma Theory
Format: Paperback
This a great book if you work with victims of trauma and want to understand how different types of trauma can present and what interventions can be used (i.e urge surfing, cognitive restructuring, focus breathing, etc.). It also include a section about medications and what to address first in treatment. I think it’s great for new clinicians who may be looking for interventions to add to their clinical toolbox.
