4 O’ Clock, locally known as گلِ عباسی, is a beautiful and fragrant flowering plant famous for its unique habit of blooming in the late afternoon. This Red variety produces striking deep red blossoms that open after 4 PM, filling your garden with rich color and a pleasant, sweet fragrance. It is a fast-growing, easy-to-maintain plant, ideal for borders, pots, and garden beds. Its continuous summer flowering and strong growth make it perfect for both beginners and experienced gardeners.

Sowing Seasons in Pakistan

  • Spring: February – April

  • Monsoon: July – August

  • Early Autumn: September
    (Can also be grown in summer if soil moisture is maintained.)

Growing Instructions

1. Soil Preparation

  • Use well-drained, fertile soil

  • Ideal pH: 6.0 – 7.5

  • Mix compost or organic manure before sowing

2. Sowing Method

  • Direct sow in soil (fast germination)

  • Depth: 0.5 – 1 cm

  • Spacing: 12–18 inches

  • Keep soil lightly moist, not waterlogged

3. Watering

  • Water regularly

  • Allow topsoil to dry slightly between watering

4. Sunlight

  • Full sun to partial shade

  • Flowers open beautifully in the evening

5. Germination

  • 7–12 days

6. Care

  • Remove dried flowers to encourage more blooms

  • Apply light fertilizer every 20–25 days

  • Very heat tolerant and low maintenance
