ENGLISH DESCRIPTION If more than 16% of Mexico's population, around 21 million or 1 in 6 Mexicans, have some type of disabling condition, why does it seem that there are fewer cases of people with disabilities than the actual percentage? The answer is that people with disabilities (PwD) are somewhat invisible. The fact is that most of the time, people with disabilities live in the shadows. We only tend to notice them every four years when the Paralympics are held; or when the International Day of PwD is near and brands carry out actions regarding PwD; or when the government gives tax benefits to promote the insertion of this group of people in the workplace. This book seeks to shed a light on the twenty-one million people we don't see as much as we should. For the first time, people with various types of disabilities--either from birth or acquired--belonging to different parts of the country, such as Olympic medalists, businessmen, philanthropists, executives, politicians, public servants, artists, activists, lecturers, academics, lawyers, doctors, and even a standup artist, tell their stories of resilience, courage, and purpose. Now, they are references for other people with disabilities while motivating the general population to be agents of change, to help shed light and ensure inclusion in all aspects of life. A heartbreaking, inspiring, and original book in which journalist and activist Bárbara Anderson uses her writing to give a voice to those who aren't always counted, and where renowned photographer Enrique Covarrubias illuminates their faces for the first time as equals.
(In)visible is a reading that radically changes the way we see disability, moves our conscience, and invites us to act.

It's a hedgehog!
Format: Board book
My sweet daughter-in-law is expecting our 1st grandchild. Since we are a huge family of readers I asked my son & dil to give me names for some of their favorite books growing up. I bought a few of their favorites & since she loves hedgehogs I thought this would be a cute little book for bedtime. As our granddaughter starts to read by herself this will be a great starter book to have, too.
