Пʼєса Гавела 'Після відставки' має особливий статус. Насамперед тому, що на чеську сцену повернувся драматург, який двадцять років займався зовсім іншою сферою суспільного життя, та ще й колишній чеський президент. Але не варто вбачати у творі лише узагальнений досвід автора за час перебування в політиці й вимірювати події та персонажів пʼєси через призму політичної реальності. Головний персонаж — канцлер Ріґер — іде у відставку в неназваній країні, в неназваний час. Сюжет пʼєси побудований за зразком 'Вишневого саду' Антона Чехова — це й вимушений від’їзд Ріґера з урядової вілли, і мотив вишневого саду, який вирубують, щоб побудувати на його місці гігантський торговий центр.

Драма дуже прозоро базується на гіркому чеховському гуморі. Зокрема, її персонажі часто промовляють репліки, запозичені у 'Вишневому саді'. Водночас тут присутній і вплив шекспірівського 'Короля Ліра'. Тема відходу, самотності, старіння, змін і непорозумінь у власній родині не раз висвітлювалися у світовій драматургії, але Гавел дивиться на неї трохи інакше, самоіронічно, ніби визнаючи, що не може змиритися з цими речами, і при цьому запитуючи сам себе: а чому він повинен про це турбуватися? В своїх коментарях у пʼєсі від дійової особи 'Голос', які нагадують брехтівські ремарки, він демонструє свої письменницькі вади і проблеми.

I like this suit. I really do. It's much better quality than I expected. Color matches what I saw on my screen. 100% worth the $70. My problem was listening to reviews. Most say fit perfect, follow their size chart. Another says their son is normally size 32 and she ordered a 38 and it fit perfect, so make sure to order 1 or 2 sizes up. My advice is go with your gut. My son is normally a size 34...I ordered a a 36 because of both their size chart and reviews. After looking at the size chart I told myself that's too big, but said no, reviews state this is perfect and it is 1 size up from what he wears. As I was ordering I was telling myself "this is going to be too big, I just know it." Guess what? I was right...and now I'm paying for these size 4XL pants to be tailored (am I stupid or is a 36 supposed to be 4xl?? I still wonder if this is my mess up). The jacket actually fit quite nicely, maybe a tad too big, but not enough to even need to tailor it. Honestly this company needs to let us pick a size for the jacket and a size for the pants, instead of it being almost a guarantee one of them will be too big.
