De Martin 0-10E Retro Jason Isbell is rechtstreeks geïnspireerd op de 1940 Martin 0-17 die Isbell gebruikte voor de opnames van zijn soloalbum Foxes in the Snow. Dat verhaal hoor je terug in elke noot: dit is een gitaar die niet probeert indruk te maken, maar gewoon eerlijk klinkt. Warm, gefocust en direct.

Het volledig massief mahonie body, zowel top als rug en zijkanten, geeft de 0-10E Retro een toon die meteen herkenbaar is: rijke midden, heldere hoge tonen en een punchy aanslag die bijzonder goed werkt voor fingerpicking en singer-songwriter repertoire. De scalloped spruce X-bracing voegt helderheid en dynamische respons toe, zodat de gitaar ook bij zachtere aanslag goed reageert. De Martin E1 elektronica maakt de stap naar versterkt spelen eenvoudig, zonder het akoestische karakter aan te tasten.

De Performing Artist hals met PA-profiel en een 24.9" mensuur zorgt voor een comfortabel en vlot speelgevoel, ook voor langere sessies. Het East Indian rosewood fretboard heeft 20 frets met Old Style 17 inlays, passend bij het retro-karakter van de gitaar. De nickel open gear tuners en dovetail halsverbinding completeren een instrument dat vakmanschap en nostalgie combineert. Geleverd met gigbag en bespannen met Martin snaren ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Jason Isbell zelf.

These are cute, fit well, good quality. Excellent for short girls - I’m 5’ tall and they’re exactly the right length for a full-length jean. I feel like they’re fashionable without being too trendy (they work for 30somethings as well as 20somethings). They’re nice thick cotton with very little stretch. Because of that I’d be conservative with sizing because they do stretch significantly when you wear them. I got these in the lighter blue, too. The darker wash is slightly smaller and I wound up liking the color better, too. But the light wash is nice.

Purchased the “cropped” length. I am 5ft 3.5 inch. Weight 170lbs (42 inch hip/38 inch waist) normally wear a size 10/12 or 31 in jeans, depending on the brand. I ordered up at 14 for these based on other reviewers. (When held up to other jeans they were the same as a Talbots 10 at the waist) Prewash they felt good, a little big& length hit at the top of my foot. After wash and dry, the fit was almost perfect and the length was at lower ankle. Ordering up is probably the right choice, although I think I could have been comfortable in a 12 (with no drying). They are a tad bit too long for a “cropped” look IMO. The wide leg is a true wide leg and falls straight from the waist. The material is heavy and there is almost no give/stretch - so a traditional denim. This is the dark blue and it is a true dark blue. You can’t beat the price, excellent value.
