Need to really get your Ford SuperDuty off the ground? This suspension system is designed as the do-it-all suspension system. This is not a "lift kit", it is a true suspension system that will technically allow you to do things you probably should not be doing in a daily driven truck.....but you can!

This is the true, Jack of all trades suspension system offering the most wheel travel of any Carli system. The Dominator rides better than any other system on the road while boasting off-road manners to rival the Coilover Bypass. No tubes to adjust or user-tunability in this system; Carli has done the hard work for you.

CARLI DOMINATOR SUSPENSION SYSTEM COMPONENTS

The truck will sit 4.5" higher in the front and have more wheel travel thanks to the taller, Progressive Rate Coil Springs that mount into the Fabricated Carli Spring Buckets. Radius Arm Drop Brackets reset the pivot point and keep the travel linear for the best ride while Sway Bar Drop Brackets reset the sway bar engagement point. The included Bump Stop Drops protect the shocks from over-compressing while the Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle and Stainless Brake Lines firm up braking and ensure there is enough line for the newfound travel. To round off the front end, you will receive Caster Shims to tighten the steering.

REAR LEAF SPRINGS

The rear is outfitted with a Full Progressive Spring Pack requiring no block to achieve proper ride height; thus, travel is extended and wheel hop/axle wrap minimized at the cost of 15% less load capacity than a stock F-250. If capacity is a concern, check out the Carli Long Travel Airbags to restore the payload capacity to that of a SRW F-350.

CARLI TUNED 3.0" KING SHOCKS

This system boasts Carli Signature tuned, King 3.0" Remote Reservoir shocks so large, they needed to fabricate custom mounts to fit them; as the old adage goes, there's no replacement for displacement. The 3.0" shock has a piston surface area 45% greater than a 2.5" King and 126% larger than a factory 2.0" shock making it far more efficient in all situations. The massive surface area also ensures you'll get amazing off-road performance combined with the best on-road ride of any Carli system. To fit these shocks, Carli fabricated mounts that lift the upper mounting point and position the shock away from the frame while the standard bump stop extensions were shortened to allow for more up-travel to compliment the additional down-travel from the longer shock. In an effort to provide you with the best product, a custom piston was designed to determine proper base flow rates to ensure the shock works well in the heavy duty truck platform; the shocks were then tuned based on seat-of-the-pants feel, which really is the only thing that truly matters. ALL of Carli's King shock offerings are finished off with shafts machined and polished from a solid piece of 17-4 Stainless. Unlike King's standard shafts, there is no coating to wear off, weather is far less likely to hurt them and if there is a small chip, you can round the edges with emery cloth to ensure the seal housing isn't damaged as they're not brittle like the stock, hardened shafts. The shocks are finished with King oil good to -55° F. Note that all King shocks are built with a plated steel body. If subjected to inclement weather for extended periods, we recommend wrapping your shocks in 3M to provide a moisture barrier that's replaceable.

CARLI RECOMMENDATION

As with the Coilover Bypass, it's recommended that users purchase a Differential Guard for axle protection, High Mount Steering Stabilizer to keep the steering as controlled as the suspension and Fabricated Radius Arms for strength and Limit Strap mounting. At this level of suspension, a roll cage is also recommended if the system will be used to its full off-road potential.

WHEEL AND TIRE FITMENT

Carli recommends 17"-18" wheels, no more than 9" wide with 5" of backspacing with with a 37", E-Rated Tire. If running the Carli Fabricated Radius Arms, up to 5.5" of backspacing is possible given the additional tire clearance provided by the arm. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • WHEELS: Carli Recommends a 17"-18" Wheel, no more than 9" wide with 5" of Backspacing on 4.5" Lift Systems
  • TIRES: 37", E-Rated Tire Fitment is Recommended. Recommended unloaded Tire Pressure 45F/40R.
  • RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION: Carli 4.5" Systems are Designed and Tested on Vehicles with 17"-18" Wheels with 37", E-Rated Tires. Stock wheels and tires or running a larger wheel diameter will result in a stiffer ride.
  • REAR DRIVESHAFT Trucks equipped with a 2 piece driveshaft will require a Carli Carrier Bearing Drop (sold separately) to ensure proper driveline angles.
NO LEAF SPRING OPTION NOTES:
  • Diesel Power Products and Carli strongly suggest the use of either options available. These options are designed to work flawlessly with the rest of your kit and, are the best way to go. However, we understand you may already have the necessary provisions and/or products to use with this kit so we give you the option to not include any leaf spring provisions.
NO SWAY BAR OPTION NOTES:
  • Diesel Power Products and Carli strongly suggest the use of either options available. These options are designed to work flawlessly with the rest of your kit and, are the best way to go. However, we understand you may already have the necessary provisions and/or products to use with this kit so we give you the option to not include any sway bar drop or Torsion Sway Bar provisions.

    OPTIONAL CARLI ADD-ON COMPONENTS

    SWAY BAR DROP BRACKETS SPECIFICATIONS:

    • Easy bolt-on
    • Factory dual ball joint end links negate need to replace links
    • Intended for 4.5" suspension system

    FULL REPLACEMENT SPRING PACKS SPECIFICATIONS:

    • Provides a 1" rear high stance on matching 4.5" suspension systems
    • 3.5" axle tube

    LEAF SPRING SHACKLE SPECIFICATIONS:

Much of the jarring ride of the Super Duty rear can be attributed to the factory vulcanized bushings in the leaf spring pack and shackle. The factory shackle is very strong BUT the design is not conducive to a smooth ride. The Carli shackle is constructed of 1/4″ American cold-rolled steel. The mid-length gusset ensures no deflection while the serviceable bushings offer a far superior ride to the bind of the factory bushings.

    • Greasable and rebuildable
    • Far better ride than factory shackle
    • 1/4" steel construction
    • Fits factory and Carli springs

    FABRICATED ADJUSTABLE RADIUS ARMS SPECIFICATIONS:

Icing on the cake, these arms add Additional Tire Clearance, Limit Strap Protection for your Front Shocks, 1/4" Boxed Steel Constructions, Serviceable 17-4 Stainless Spherical Bearings and Adjustable Caster Correction up to 3.5° over stock specs to leave Death-Wobble in the rear-view.

    • 1-4 degree of adjustable caster correction
    • 3/16 construction, fully internal gusseted with 1/2" additional tire clearance
    • Limit straps kit included
    • Serviceable 17-4 stainless spherical joint at frame connection for longevity and bind free cycling
    • Requires radius arm drop brackets for 4.5-5.5" Carli systems

    HIGH MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER SPECIFICATIONS:

Bolt in replacement for the factory stabilizer. Adjustable from 70-200 psi to run neutral (no directional influence at 70psi) or at 200psi to counter the right-hand pull inherent to tires like Toyo Mud Terrains.

    • Bold in replacement for OEM stabilizer
    • Works on leveled and lifted trucks only
    • Will NOT work with dropped pitman arms

LOW MOUNT STEERING WITH DIFFERENTIAL GUARD STABILIZER SPECIFICATIONS:

Bolt in steering stabilizer which compliments a Carli, or factory, high mount stabilizer. Adjustable from 70-200 psi to run neutral (no directional influence at 70psi) or at 200psi to counter the left-hand pull inherent to tires like Nitto Trail Grapplers. Run in conjunction with the Carli High Mount for the ultimate Dual, Opposing Steering Stabilizer combination that's infinitely adjustable.

    • Inside the Carli stainless stabilizer
    • Custom valved for larger tires, adjustable nitrogen pressure
    • Includes differential guard and clamp
    • Combines with high-mount stabilizer for opposing setup
    • Optimized for Carli 2.5-5.5" systems

    CARRIER BEARING DROP SPECIFICATIONS:

We recommend adding this to shim to ALL 2-piece driveshafts (CCLB) to shim the Carrier bearing down alleviating the angle of all joints. If your truck is equipped with a single piece driveshaft, this will not fit and is not required.

    • Drops carrier bearing on 2-piece driveshafts
    • Prevents take-off shudder / driveline vibration
    • Stackable 3/8" shims for 1-4" rear lift

    Good book minus Containers chapter.
    Format: Paperback
Great book with useful information. However, I gave it 4 starts due to the "Containers" chapter. Very poorly written chapter. In fact, if you get this book, just ignore the container chapter as it will only waste your time and can be better spent using other sources.

Good book that will help with your RHCSA, But...
    Format: Kindle
...watch out for typos and problems with some of the explanations in some parts of the book. I bought this book (kindle version) and used it to pass the RHCSA. The book is clearly tailored for the RHCSA and to be fair does live up to that reputation. There are a lot of exercises and examples that clearly outline what the author is trying to convey. Examples are clear to understand and if you do the exercises yourself, then you are well on your way to passing the RHCSA. However, there are a lot of typos big and small and I did send them to the author with the assumption that it would benefit others with the corrections (especially the kindle version). The author was responsive at the beginning acknowledging the errors. I did not check whether they have been fixed or not. I just went through the content after making note of the typos and with the understanding that he would fix it. The topics are well covered and explained. Three topics that could have been better covered are SELinux, AutoFS and Containers. The explanation uses excessive word-o-logy that leaves somebody new to SELinux with tons of confusion and more questions. I used youtube resources to prep myself on the how and why (Ed Walsh on a youtube channel clearly explains the need for SELinux - I have not seen a better explanation than Ed's anywhere else). The author's coverage of AutoFS is again excessive word-o-logy that is a confusing mess. The examples are fine, but the explanation uses confusing rhetoric that can leave you messed up with NFS and AutoFS setup. I read explanations on direct and indirect mappings and watched a couple of youtube videos before I understood what the author was trying to convey. I pointed out both of these to the author. The container chapter is missing explanations or examples that the reader is well advised to take note. DIY labs 22-3 and 22-4 relate to rootless containers and therefore has to be launched as a regular user. Both labs require that you launch rootless, persistent data containers with folders under /. However, the author does not mention in any of his examples that this type of container requires you to "chown" the folders under root to belong to the user. If you launch a rootless container with this setup as a regular user without "chown"ing, (even with full DAC permissions for everybody) then SELinux does not want to apply the correct context type (container_t to the shared folder). For both these DIYs, if you make a folder anywhere other than areas that a regular user can write or has access, then you will need to "chown" it to the user before launching the rootless container, otherwise this has to be launched as a root container not rootless. I pointed this out to the author. I did not hear from him. Further, container questions (20,21,22) in mock exam #3 has user60 with a NFS mounted home folder. The questions relate to launching rootless containers as user60 with a NFS mounted home folder. SELinux barfs when it encounters the home folder with a type context as "nfs_t" for user60. It suggests workarounds that did not work for me. I googled it and the latest versions of podman seem to have some fix for the errors associated with a home folder on a NFS server. I tried to research this issue further but had an exam scheduled within days. Therefore, I requested the author for clarification/help. Here again, I did not hear from him. Luckily, I did not have to work on any such scenarios on the real test. Still, the book is a good reference to the topics on the test and is pretty useful. Although I had to refer to other resources for some chapters, the examples and mock exams are very good.

Excellent Study Bundle! Don't Let Negative Reviews Fool You!
    Format: Paperback
I received the four books in a box, and they arrived brand new and exactly as described. These books are truly great for learning and easy to follow. I was almost discouraged from ordering because of some of the negative reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to see for myself and ordered this bundle deal. While the internal pictures and screenshots are not high definition or in color, they are perfectly easy to view and follow along. The author does an excellent job of guiding you, telling you exactly what to look at within the picture to follow along and understand the concepts. All the screenshots are spot-on and very readable. This is my first set of A+ books from Sybex, and I have the two main study books, the review guide, and the practice questions book. Wow! What else can I ask for? I used to rely on the big books with the golden covers, but they didn't have the latest editions. Too bad for them—this is a huge gain for me! Thank you, Sybex and Authors!
