The Roland SC-88 Pro is a compact yet powerful half-rack MIDI module featuring a large, clear display and four RCA cinch outputs. With its expander capabilities, it offers an impressive 32-part multitimbric function, allowing for simultaneous playback of 16 parts from MIDI A and 16 parts from MIDI B, with the flexibility to choose the output destination.
In terms of sound, the SC-88 Pro boasts a generous 64-voice polyphony and an extensive sound library comprising 1117 preset sounds and 256 user locations. Additionally, it includes 42 preset drum kits and 2 user kits. As a ROMpler, it harnesses 20 MB of onboard waveforms, covering a wide spectrum from traditional GM standard to vintage Roland instruments, as well as classic MC303 groovebox drums. Notably, it features GM mapping inclusive of an SC-55 set, ensuring retro compatibility for enthusiasts.
On the effects front, the SC-88 Pro's EFFECT DSP is divided into two families: 64 classic effects including reverbs, chorus, delays, and EQ, and 64 Insertion effects such as limiter/compressor, pitch shifter, flanger, distortion, and more. Editing capabilities are comprehensive, allowing users to tweak sounds using front-panel controls for parameters like LFO vibrato, filters, and volume envelopes.
- This unit has been used.
- This unit shows some general wear from use and age like some small marks, nicks and scratches. There is one larger scuff / dent in the plastic on one of the front corners. Please see all photos for further details. Overall it is a nice piece.
- This unit has been thoroughly tested and we can confirm it is working as it should. It has no faults.
- Please be aware, this unit is 240V. It has been converted using its internal factory multi-tap transformer. This means it is ready to plug and play within Australia and New Zealand.
- The use of a step-up transformer will apply to most international buyers. Please ask if you are unsure so we can help you source the correct item.
- This sale is for the SC-88 Pro only. Nothing else is included in this sale.
