Over the years, its been a daily occurrence for us at Diesel Power Products to describe to someone how to build a boost leak tool using an air compressor, pressure regulator, and a cap to cover the face of the turbo. Why? Boost leaks through intercoolers, intercooler boots, and intercooler pipes are such a common cause of power loss, increased smoke, and higher than normal EGT's that its one of the first things we tell customers to do. But now, instead of having to build the tool, Calibrated Power has one you can buy with all of the components you'll need less the air compressor.
Your truck needs air! Not a little bit of air. Your diesel engine needs all the incoming air it can get. Increasing air in the combustion process will help manage your exhaust gas temperatures, limit your smoke output, and increase your power.
This is why boost leaks kill diesel engines. Boost leaks can result in a smokey, laggy, dog-of-a-truck, which runs hot and burns excessive fuel. Basically, the exact opposite of what you want from your diesel. If you work with diesel trucks long enough, you’ll see leaks just about everywhere in the charged air system at one time or another. Remember, the charged air system includes anywhere from the turbocharger to the intake manifold. Your intercooler system, exhaust gas recirculation components, and even the turbocharger compressor cover can all develop boost leaks.
With this kit, you can now easily and accurately test your entire charged air system. The kit is made entirely of premium parts, designed to last, and built to rigorous standards.
OPTIONAL ADAPTER DETAILS:
The Compressor Inlet Adapter is a billet adapter that connects to your turbo's compressor inlet with a heavy-duty 4 ply boot and 2 high strength T-Bolt clamps. Removing a cold air intake in most trucks is a job that only takes a few minutes and requires the most basic mechanical skill. The same goes for installing and using the Compressor Inlet Adapter. Your billet adapter even comes with how many inch pounds the T-bolts need to be tightened to.
The Turbo Faceplate Adapter connects directly to the inlet of the turbocharger. If you have a sheet metal intake that’s not designed to hold compressed air or a brand new turbo upgrade, you may prefer this option. Just as the name implies, the billet adapter connects directly to the face of your turbocharger using the factory-style V-Band clamp or supplied mounting bolts.
Both the Compressor Inlet Adapter and Turbo Faceplate Adapter feature a conveniently placed and sealed fitting, allowing them to work with the included high-quality regulator. This regulator is a crucial component when using the kit. If you have ever used a bad or failing regulator you know how frustrating it can be. You’ll notice the liquid-filled gauge here. That prevents erratic reading from pressure spikes and external vibrations. And of course, the regulator made from high-quality materials designed to last.

An inspiring book on the uplifting qualities of the Camino pilgrimage

I highly recommend the book, “Buen Camino”, written by Gordon J. Bernhardt. It is focused on his 2018, 35-day pilgrimage/trek called the Camino de Santiago, or The Way of Saint James. The walk starts in the Pyrennes at St Jean Pied de Port in France and ends at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in northern Spain, then to the coastal towns of Muxia and Finisterre, 618 miles later.
Gordon shares what the pilgrimage meant to him as a way to reset his life, his interaction with the pilgrims along the way and the life lessons learned, how to handle unexpected problems and opportunities, and the importance of stepping away from our busy lives to help us focus on the true priorities. He blends his experience on the Camino with his profession in wealth management, and how helping/interacting with people in his personal, professional, and spiritual life has enriched his existence.
After reading this book, you will walk (pardon the pun) with a different view of what is truly important in your life.

This book provides incite on how to live a productive and rewarding life.
Format: Kindle
Gordon Bernhardt does an excellent job describing his adventure traveling the Camino de Santiago beginning in France and ending in Spain. He describes the impact it had on his personal and professional life and how experiences such as this can reward an individual in all aspects of their life. We are all on a journey through life and with the right perspective, which he delineates, can enhance and reward us and those around us. He encourages us to enjoy our journey and interactions with others. I recommend this book for anyone that wants to get the most out of life and benefit from lessons learned along the way.

"We're All Peregrinos"

I highly recommend this book. I just finished reading it, now it’s time to review and reflect. It’s one of those books that will be kept close at hand because of the many passages useful in daily life. This book isn't just for investors (financial) it's a book for those who believe that life itself is an investment. Thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter are a plus. As stated above, "We're All Peregrinos" (pilgrims), on our own hike through life. If you let it, this book will have a positive impact on how your journey goes.

A great book to read about pursuing a passion and gaining insights about life and culture

I enjoyed reading this book. The author, Gordon Bernhardt, writes his preparation and journey for a Camino Hike through Spain with vivid expressions and fun stories. He has such a good ability for story-telling that I feel like I was walking side by side with him. He also can draw incredible and unexpected insights from the hiking experience and apply them to the essential aspects of life and investing. Highly recommend reading this book.
