Ook vandaag zal Pieter Embrechts weer zes ideeën voor nieuwe liedjes hebben ingezongen op zijn iPhone. Muziek is de brandstof van zijn creatieve motor, de constante in zijn meervoudig en uitrekbaar bestaan.

Pieter Embrechts heeft de afgelopen jaren dan ook een zeer gevarieerd cv bij elkaar geschreven, gespeeld en gezongen: Cubaanse mambo, big band swing, Nederlandstalige luistermuziek, gelauwerd muziektheater tot modern klassiek aan toe.

Het getuigt van een grote appetijt en een dito reikwijdte. Embrechts houdt van veel én van gul. Binnen die overvloed is ‘Onderwoud’ evenveel overtreffende trap als rustpunt. Het is een dubbel-cd met liefst 18 nummers. Twee uur muziek die is opgedeeld volgens een Embrechtsiaanse logica. Deel 1 zijn popsongs die vertrekken vanuit zijn gitaar, aangevuld met elektronica. Op deel 2 staan langere, verhalende songs waar geen synthesizer mee gemoeid is.

‘Onderwoud’ klinkt als een rijpe, heerlijk onaardse plaat met de energie van een straf debuut. De songs zijn écht. De verhalen intrigeren.

I don’t have babies anymore just teens, but I keep one of these in the car for back of my hands. It doesn’t either freeze nor get hot melty and gloopy and separated like a cream. Withstands both extreme summer and below freezing winter temps. Also you easily swipe it on in 2 seconds, avoiding getting palms slimy to facilitate driving. However I drive less than I spend time on my screened in porch. Hands age very fast. It doesn’t clutter and look sloppy on porch, and again, doesn’t freeze or melt! And a whopping 19.2% zinc is CRAZY!! I could of course see this being perfect for babies faces since it wouldn’t run into the eyes and it’s gentle as heck on skin. It is like totally thick and white though, if that matters to you or your baby. I also keep the adult sun bum stick (not mineral) in my purse. Takes up no room. It is less white/more cosmetically elegant than baby mineral one, and I touch up my face with it. I reapply sunscreen every 2 hours (don’t wear makeup). These things are perfect!!!! They last forever too.
