Het wijnhuis

Damilano is een van de oudste en meest prestigieuze wijnhuizen van Barolo, opgericht in 1890. Vinificatie

De wijn is gemaakt van 100% Arneis, een druif die zijn oorsprong vindt in de Roero-heuvels van Piemonte. Deze druif staat bekend om zijn frisse en aromatische karakter, met veel spanning en levendigheid in de wijn. De druiven worden met de hand geplukt en zacht geperst. De vergisting en rijping vinden volledig plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks, zodat de zuivere fruitaroma’s en de frisse zuren optimaal bewaard blijven.

Jaargang 2024

De oogst van 2024 in Piemonte geldt als uitstekend. De combinatie van zonnige dagen en koele nachten zorgde voor een perfecte balans tussen rijpheid en frisheid. Voor witte druiven zoals Arneis betekent dit een wijn met een expressieve geur, levendige zuren en een elegante structuur. Een jaargang die nu al veel drinkplezier geeft en bij uitstek geschikt is om jong van te genieten.

Food pairing

De Damilano Langhe Arneis 2024 is een ideale wijn om te combineren met lichte gerechten. Denk aan vitello tonnato, een frisse salade met geitenkaas of gegrilde groenten. Ook bij schaal- en schelpdieren zoals oesters en mosselen sluit de wijn mooi aan. Dankzij zijn zuivere stijl en verfijnde zuren is hij bovendien een uitstekende begeleider van gerechten met witte asperges of risotto.

I got 2 of the 3-pack at the time because it was cheaper to do so than to get a 6-pack. Of course, the next day the 6-pack was cheaper lol. Anyway, this is great xylitol gum and not overly expensive like Zellie’s. I take 2 (which is one serving meaning 2g of xylitol) after “most” meals because it’s supposed to be good for my oral health. I chew one piece at a time for a couple minutes to prolong the sweet flavor instead of popping both into my mouth together. I like chewing these because they don’t harden up like some gums do. They stay soft throughout and I often forget and chew them for 15-20 minutes at a time. Anyway, I did the math and compared the PUR gum to other 100% xylitol gums out there and this one was a clear winner to me for the same benefits. I would totally recommend this gum and I like that it’s aspartame free! I’d give it a 5.0/5.0 - 03/20/2026.

The gum has a powerful peppermint taste – very refreshing. The flavor lasts a long time. The main reason that I bought this gum is because it has 100% xylitol. Xylitol helps fight plaque buildup. I have only had the product one day, so I can't say that it works, but I read many reports before I bought the gum that xylitol is excellent for fighting plaque buildup. It also has no sugar. It's vegan and it has only five calories per two pieces. I have so far only chewed one piece at a time. One piece seems plenty for me. I've read that people need from six to ten grams of xylitol per day to effectively fight plaque. So, this gum needs to be chewed accordingly. Many people chew after every time they eat. I am happy with this purchase.

Only protein shake I've found that doesn't cramp my stomach

I've tried the vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, and chocolate is by far the best. It's not too sweet (where as the vanilla and strawberry were). It doesn't have any extra whey concentrate or caseinate or soy or whatever added to it to boost protein. Brands that do that mess up my stomach, giving me bad stomach cramps. This is just highly filtered milk, and lactase enzyme that tackles the lactose sugar left behind after filtration. Maybe that's the secret. (I can drink normal milk and not get cramps. But, whey protein isolate and other things give me cramps.) This has become a go-to in a protein diet I'm on. I'll have one for breakfast with some coffee. That lasts me until lunch. If not, I'll simply have another 2 hours later. They're each less than 200 calories, so it's not too bad having another if it staves off hunger. I find I eat a smaller lunch. I might have another one for a mid-afternoon snack. Then I'll have a normal dinner. Basically I'm replacing bigger meals and a breakfast with 2-3 smaller calorie protein shakes. And the protein keeps me satisfied. (unlike something like slim fast that's just all sugar and ramps up your insulin). They're a bit pricey (almost $4/bottle). But, I'm cutting back on my grocery bill as well. So, it's balancing out. I figure I could be spending $12/day on fast food or some other garbage that makes me fat. Instead I'm drinking 2-3 of these a day, and am down 10lbs over a month. I'll stick with these.
