Het wijnmaken is bij de familie van Marchese Lodovico Antinori met de paplepel ingegoten. Zijn broer staat aan het roer bij het familie bedrijf antinori en zijn oom is eigenaar van het naast gelegen Tenuta san Guido. Tenuta dell’Ornellaia ligt in Bolgheri, Toscane, Italië. In 1981 liet Lodovico zijn modern wijnbedrijf bouwen en plantte hij Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon en Sauvignon Blanc aan. De bodemsoort lijkt op die van de Saint Emillion in Bordeaux, wat de druiven erg goed doet. De filosofie draait om de obsessie voor uitmuntendheid. Elke keuze die wordt gemaakt is van absoluut belang en daarbij wordt gelet op elk detail. Op geen enkel moment in het productieproces zijn shortcuts toegestaan of getolereerd, en dit is hoe het wijnhuis erin slaagt druiven te oogsten die van de allerhoogste kwaliteit zijn, ongeacht de klimatologische omstandigheden in dat specifieke jaar.Tien maanden houtlagering voor Ornellaia Le Volte dell Ornellaia
De blend bestaat uit 50 procent Sangiovese 30 procent Merlot en 20 procent Cabernet Sauvignon en zijn afkomstig uit de regio rondom Bolgheri. De verschillende rassen werden afzonderlijk gefermenteerd in kleine stalen tanks om hun ras eigenschappen intact te houden. De alcoholische gisting werd gevolgd door malolactische gisting, opnieuw in stalen tanks. De wijn werd vervolgens 10 maanden gerijpt, deels in barrique gebruikt voor Ornellaia en deels in cementtanks, om de perfecte balans te verkrijgen tussen de tanninestructuur en een uitdrukking van vers fruit. De geur is intens en zwoel, kersen en ander rijp rood fruit en confiture. Heerlijke sappige aanzet, elegant, met rijp rood fruit, pruimen en zwarte bessen, een zekere stevigheid nog, met goede tannines, mooi rijp en uitgebalanceerd, super verleidelijk. A Toy Ball for All Seasons!

Oh my gosh! I’m so happy to find the almost exact ball my 5 1/2 pound 9 month old Morkie, Charlie, that mommy lost at the campgrounds! It was his favorite toy and although he has others, he loved this one above all others, so to find another one was an answer to my prayers. The difference is so minor and in a good way. It is very durable as Charlie has very sharp teeth, but this one is just a bit softer making it easier to hang on to playing fetch. But for Charlie, the size is the same, the squeekiness is the same, the color is the same (yes they can see some colors) and he went into a jumping frenzy when I took it out of the package and the price was unbelievably inexpensive for such a high quality toy! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Good mommy! ( I’m ordering another one as a back up, jic!)

Dogs love them. Durable. Chew worthy for a beagle and a German shepherd. You cannot smell the flavor imparted but the pups definitely can. Always purchase the amount you need so each dog can have one.

Bacon and a Ball? Can life get any better?

Come on.. these balls are the best. They smell like bacon, yes, they really do. They are durable and squeak. Upon aggressive play, the squeak will die out but the ball will still be useable.

She LOVES this ball

Our dog likes toys, but this ball is now her favorite ball. She even took it to bed with her last night. Our dog is 65 pounds, but she likes smaller toys so I ordered the small ball. It’s a good size. It’s nice and soft and squeaks. She seems to kills the squeaker right away, but she didn’t with this ball. It seems to be the least amount of money I’ve spent on a toy for her and it’s her favorite. I ordered another one just to have on hand. This toy is a great bargain!

Not Durable Enough for a Dachshund to be Left Alone With (Updated)

I just received these balls today and got one out for my daughter's Dachshund. She loved it for about 15 minutes and then gnawed a huge chunk out of it. It was in the garbage within 20 minutes of receiving it. I'm not even going to give her the other ones. We had an issue once before where she was chewing on her Kong and swallowed some pieces. It messed up her digestion for quite a while. Not taking the chance with these balls. Too bad because they have nice bounce and good squeak. She was thrilled with it until we saw that she ruined it and we quickly took it away from her. If you have a Dachshund or other aggressive chewer, I'd look for something else.
UPDATE - I've bumped up the rating by 2 stars, changed the review title, and ordered another set. We found that we can't leave the dog alone with the ball, but if we use it to play with her, we can monitor when she starts to aggressively gnaw at it. So now, it's more of a fetch ball and we've taught her how to stop gnawing it and drop it for another chase. They still give in to her sharp little teeth more easily than other toys, but she really loves them and gets so excited when we get one out. It's easily her favorite toy, and who doesn't want to see their pup happy?! It's definitely not a chew toy, but it's been great as a fetch ball. If you go into it with that understanding, you and your pup will both be happier with the product.
