In december 1944 wordt hij in het veld ingezet bij fallschirmjger regiment 2 waar hij actie meemaakt in de omgeving Hilversum Amersfoort Amsterdam vanaf begin 1945 in het Reichswald Oa in Goch, Weeze, Sonsbeck, Afferden. Na zware gevechten tegen de

Na zware gevechten tegen de Amerikanen wordt hij in maart 1945 overgeplaatst naar fallschirmjäger regiment 58 waar hij waarschijnlijk bij Kampfgruppe Schirmer wordt gevoegd.



Hij is onderscheiden met het fallschirmschützenabzeichen en kriegsverdienstkreuz 1e klasse.
