Als een van de eersten al bijna 30 jaar biodynamisch werkend temidden van een zeer behoudende provinciale omgeving. Sinds 2022 bijgestaan door zoon Jannis die vrijelijk buiten de Moezel zijn kennis (en tevens wijnmakende vriendin) opdeed om vol overgave terug te keren op het ouderlijk domein. Jannis doet wijngaard, Thorsten de kelder. Melsheimer’s kern is het vrijwel volledige bezit van de Mullay Hofberg, een wijngaard die al sinds 1143 in de boeken staat. Met hulp van sterren, maan, geiten en kippen wordt de wijngaard beheerd en bewerkt. Van basisriesling tot topcuvée, alles wordt met de hand geoogst op de steile op het zuid-oosten gerichte leisteen die bovendien een flinke dosis quartz bevat (geeft meer spicy rokerig karakter). In de kelder gisting op groot oud hout en spontane gisting. Met uitzondering van sulfiet bij het oversteken geen toevoegingen. De wijnen zijn misschien niet zo ‘helder’ als die op RVS gegist van andere producenten zegt Thorsten, maar zeker zo origineel, diep, aards, ingetogen, fraai. Sommige vaten gisten in de koude koele vochtige kelder wel 3 jaar of langer. Zonder toevoegingen dus! Deze eindigen als cuvée ‘Lentum’. We kochten de laatste flessen 2018 die vorig jaar pas op fles is gegaan, vanaf vrijdag bij Lof in de winkel samen met ‘gewoon droog’ en heerlijke bubbels. Hoort volgens Vinum tot de beste producenten van de Mosel. Volgens ons natuurlijk ook.

Beschrijving: Levendig en fris, limoen, citroenschil, appel, peer, perzik, gist, iets wat toast.

Charger portion stopped working twice now
Works well until it doesn't. Was excited to get the phone mount off the car vent but I have gone through one replacement already and now I'm past the point to completely return it. Twice now the charging portion has failed. The first one stopped lighting up completely with in about a week and now this one just constantly flashes and no longer charges after another few weeks. I have tried different cords and outlets in my car with no success. The magnet portion however is strong and does hold the phone well.
