Deze vintage spijkerjas is met de hand bewerkt tot een uniek statement piece. Het borduurwerk is met zorg geselecteerd en in zijn geheel verwerkt op de jas, waardoor elk ontwerp een eigen karakter heeft.

Het grootste deel van het borduurwerk bevindt zich op het achterpand, met aanvullende details op de voorkant of kraag. De plaatsing verschilt per jas, wat ieder item volledig one of a kind maakt.

In mijn atelier in Nederland transformeer ik vintage denim jassen met zorgvuldig geselecteerde borduurwerken tot draagbare, zachte denim items. Elk stuk is handgemaakt, duurzaam en geeft bestaande materialen een tweede leven — vaak met een eigen achtergrond en verhaal.

Alle denim jassen zijn van 100% katoen en worden vintage ingekocht in Nederland. De borduurwerken (tapestries) worden zorgvuldig verzameld in Nederland, Frankrijk en Zweden.

De jas is unisex en kan lichte gebruikssporen bevatten uit een vorig leven. Juist dit draagt bij aan het karakter en de unieke uitstraling van het item. Het onderste knoopsgat functioneert niet meer.

flawed and sweet

While the premise of the book was endearing, it quickly felt under-researched and over-represented. Giving characters mental health diagnoses while describing only surface level or self-diagnosed criteria makes the characters feel stereotypical and under-developed. The manic-like decision making of one of the main characters is often used as a plot point, making it feel like a gimmick to blame the character’s “neurodivergence”. Had there been better research and understanding into mental health diagnoses, and less stereotypically representation, it would have been easier to enjoy. Aside from that I liked the premise of the plot and found the build of found family, friendship, and love to be sweet.
