Wijngaarden en regio
De kracht van deze wijn begint in Laudun, in het zuidelijke deel van de Rhônevallei.
- Ligging / Herkomst: Château de Bord ligt in Laudun, binnen de appellatie Côtes du Rhône Villages Laudun in de zuidelijke Rhône. Binnen de bredere Rhônevallei is dit een benoemde herkomst die nadrukkelijk op eigen terroir en identiteit mag leunen.
- Wijngaard: Het domein omvat 22 ha wijngaarden rond de resten van een middeleeuws château. Dat historische kader geeft deze cuvée extra statuur binnen het Brotte-assortiment.
- Bodem: De wijngaarden liggen op terrassen met zanderige, goed drainerende bodems. Dat geeft de wijn zijn combinatie van concentratie, rondeur en verfijning.
- Klimaat & invloeden: Het klimaat is mediterraan, met een duidelijke invloed van de mistral. Die wind helpt de druiven gezond te houden en ondersteunt een rijpe, zuivere stijl.
- Expositie: De terrassen zijn ideaal gericht op het zuidoosten. Daardoor profiteren de druiven volop van de zon, terwijl de wijn toch zijn spanning behoudt.
Vinificatie en rijping
In de kelder kiest Brotte hier voor een aanpak die breedte en frisheid heel precies samenbrengt.
- Oogst & Selectie: De druiven worden met de hand geoogst, vroeg in de ochtend en op perfecte rijpheid. Dat helpt om maximale frisheid en aromatische precisie te bewaren.
- Vergisting: Na 36 uur koude bezinking bij 10–12 °C fermenteert 35% van het sap langzaam gedurende 2 weken in nieuwe Franse eikenhouten vaten. Die keuze geeft extra textuur en aromatische gelaagdheid aan de wijn.
- Rijping / Houtopvoeding: Het deel dat op hout vergist, rijpt daarna nog enkele maanden op de lies met regelmatige bâtonnage. De rest van de cuvée rijpt op fijne lies in roestvrijstaal, waarna de assemblage licht wordt gefilterd en nog 1 maand op fles rust. Zo ontstaat een wijn met rondeur, spanning en een mooi verweven houtinvloed.
Druivensamenstelling
De blend combineert aromatische rijkdom met frisheid en structuur, precies zoals je in een serieuze witte Laudun wilt zien.
- 70% Viognier – Laudun: Viognier vormt hier de kern van de wijn en geeft hem zijn volle aromatische expressie, ronde aanzet en rijpe fruittoon.
- 15% Clairette – Laudun: Clairette brengt verfijning en helpt de wijn zijn frisse lijn te bewaren.
- 15% Grenache Blanc – Laudun: Grenache Blanc geeft extra breedte en ondersteunt het zachte, gelaagde mondgevoel van de cuvée.
Proefnotities en serveertips
Licht geel in het glas, met in de neus citrus, witte bloemen, perzik en een fijne toets van verse amandel. In de mond proef je een frisse, goed opgebouwde witte Rhône met wit boomgaardfruit, een subtiele ziltigheid en levendige zuren die voor precisie en lengte zorgen. De afdronk blijft evenwichtig, zuiver en bijzonder aantrekkelijk aan tafel.
- Serveertemperatuur: 13 °C werkt hier het mooist, omdat die temperatuur zowel de florale finesse als de frisse spanning en romige textuur goed laat uitkomen.
- Gerechten: Witte vleessoorten, zomerse salades en zeevruchten sluiten hier bijzonder goed op aan.

Meer informatie over Château de Bord
Château de Bord gaat terug tot de Romeinse tijd en hoorde later toe aan de bisschoppen van Uzès en daarna aan de graaf van Toulouse. Na de Franse Revolutie raakte het domein verlaten, tot de familie Brotte het in 1991 overnam en opnieuw uitbouwde tot een belangrijk adres in Laudun. Die combinatie van historische diepgang en familiedrive geeft deze wijn een extra overtuigende achtergrond.

Easy to use for a clean looking cut!
I do wish there was a cordless version but I'm so glad I bought this. It took some time to edge everything the first time because I had to cut the lines but it's been a breeze ever since. I just walk the perimeter of the yard and driveway and it does it's job with ease.
The front wheel has three settings which determines how far down the blade cuts and the blade has two settings for edging or trenching. The handle is stationary but it can be lifted up or down. There's a guideline on top of the blade guard that helps identify where the blade is going to make the cut. TIP: Lean it back on the back wheels before pulling the trigger and slowly bring it down because it will jump if the blade isn't lined up and touches the concrete.
It doesn't roll well in the grass but it's very smooth when rolled on the concrete. It's definitely worth having to give a clean and finished look. It's well built and isn't too heavy but definitely has some weight to it. It's only loud when the blade hits the concrete otherwise it sounds like a drone. The only complaint I have is that I have to watch the cord closely other than that it's the perfect tool to give a clean look to the yard.

Great tool, well worth the money!
I'm thrilled and pleased with the Worx edger. I bought it because it's electric, cheaper than other styles and I don't have to fool with a 2 stroke engine. I bought Worx, because it has a good guide to help me keep the blade away from the sidewalk, as well as a white mark on the housing to give a general idea of where the blade was. Also I thought it seemed to have a good engine. Now I'm sure it has a good engine. I looked at 3 other comparable trimmers, and because of the guide and engine, chose Worx. I read the 1 star reviews, many of the 5 star reviews and in between, as well as all the specifications I could. One of the competitors was attractive to me, but the 1 stars indicated there was a small tendency for the engine to quit. There were many less reviews for most of the models and many for that one, but I chose this one for the same amperage of engine, but less HP, which might, in my mind, over-work the engine which would account for it being ruined. One had a better warranty, but Amazon offered 2 more years for about $750, so I upgraded the warranty to 4 years,I have Tall Fescue grass in sandy loam soil in SE Wyo because of drought resistance, and it's a Northern grass). The grass is taller and tough as well as more in clumps. The ground probably is much easier to work than clay. The edger handled the tall grass ok, with all the clippings which had accumulated. I It was a long hard job to do the first trimming, and I was impressed with the 'Worx. I tried not to work it harder than necessary but it took more than 5 or 6 hours of work. I used the blade down almost to the long hole marker and had parts of 2 teeth left. It worked well; didn't clog; had power. Didn't ruin the engine. Didn't work me hard! I had to tighten the blade after about 10 feet, but only that once. In one area I had to run it on the wrong side, with the wheels on the grass. It worked ok, but worked much better where it was possible to put the wheels on the cement, and thus use the guide! It would be nice to be able to move the handle and the guide to the other side instead of the way I did it. The cord holder worked poorly for a 3 wire 12 gauge extension cord, but worked fine when I got out the smaller 14 g. The metal trimmer guide that helps hold the blade away from the side walk pulls up for use of the edger as a trencher. My lawn looks terrific. The blades were MUCH more expensive than the B & D; so before I bought Worx, I searched the internet and found an electric company which had a 3 pack of original equipment blades for it for $28, and on sale for $22. I scored on the tool, and on the blades! PTL!!

Great but could be Epic
If you’re looking for a solid edger for sidewalks and driveways, this is a great tool. It’s powerful, well-built, easy to assemble, and simple to use. For edging, I would definitely recommend it.
However, I wouldn’t recommend it as a true trencher. I bought it for both purposes but mainly needed it for trenching. The maximum cutting depth is only about 1.5 inches, which isn’t deep enough for most garden borders or running cable. In my opinion, a real trencher should be able to reach at least 3 inches deep.
The limitation comes down to the blade size and guard design. WORX could improve this model with a larger blade guard and additional wheel depth settings. If they released a version capable of 3–3.25 inch trenching depth, it would really stand out in the market.
Overall, it’s an excellent edger, just not a true trencher.

Works Great!
Much quieter than I was expecting. Lawn had needed this for years, I regained 6"-10" of driveway/sidewalk back. Makes the rest of the neighborhood look bad LOL Only the cleaning up wore me out, but it should be much easier next time.

Gets the job done for a small lawn
Color: 15-Inch
I have a smaller yard, and this works GREAT!!! I have used it several times now. I do not use the bag because my municipality doesn't pick up yard clippings more than once a year. I mow every 7 to 10 days on a middle setting. The only thing that I can complain about is that it doesn't work well if pulling it in reverse. It still cuts fine, but the rubber flap that keeps the grass from flying back at you is a bit long if you want to be able to pull the mower. It can be removed easily if you choose to, but I would at least recommend wearing eye protection if you take it off since it is there for a reason. It maneuvers easily and gets very close to the edges, so I have not had to weed whack at all! It is a light mower and easy to use. Basic maintenance like keeping it covered or in a dry spot when not in use and flipping it to the side to clean the debris from under it after use, and you should have a good mower for a long time. That being said... I DID get the 3-year warranty on it. I know from a past experience with a different company that electric corded mowers are VERY hard to get serviced, so if anything goes wrong, you basically have to replace it. At least this way, my investment will be guaranteed to last several years.
