Handmatige oogst voor Esporao Murças Assobio Wit

Het wijnhuis Esporao kent een bijzonder lange geschiedenis, waarvoor je zelfs terug moet naar 1267. Maar in 1973 werd het landgoed gekocht door Jose Roquette om zijn wijndroom waar te maken. Wijngaarden creëren in de mineraalrijke, vulkanische gronden in het Zuidoosten van Portugal. De wijngaarden van Esporao liggen in de regio Alentejo. Hier worden warme dagen afgewisseld met koele nachten. De wisseling van warme zomer en koude winters zorgt voor originele wijnen, waarbij de druiven goed kunnen rijpen. Esporão gaat duurzaam te werk met bijzonder veel respect voor de natuur. De wijngaarden worden met veel kennis en passie verzorgt en daarbij staat kwaliteit voorop. Assobio betekent letterlijk ‘fluitje’ en staat voor de wind die door de wijngaarden waait en je daarbij een fluitend geluid hoort. De wijn is hier dus naar vernoemd. Als een soort ode aan de Portugese wijngaarden van Esporão. De wijngaarden hebben een bodem bestaande uit leisteen en graniet. De wijnstokken hebben een leeftijd van 15 tot 20 jaar oud en weten de juiste voedingsstoffen uit de bodem te onttrekken. De druiven worden volledig met de hand geoogst en naar de wijnmakerij gebracht. Hier worden de druiven ontsteeld en vervolgens geperst. Er volgt een koude maceratie waarna een vijfde deel van de druiven 6 maanden op eikenhouten vaten rijpt.

De heerlijke fruittonen van Esporao Murças Assobio Wit

Maar het wachten wordt beloond met een prachtige frisse witte wijn. Met in de geur tonen van donker fruit, zoals zwarte bes, pruim en cassis. Deze fruittonen worden aangevuld met vanille en houttonen. In de mond komen de fruittonen duidelijk naar voren. Het mondgevoel is soepel en zwoel met een lange aangename afdronk. Ideaal om zo van te genieten of in combinatie met een stevige pasta of bij stoofvlees.

Not A Walking Shoe

In the photo online this shoe looks like it will be very comfortable. Kind of a classy Coach's Shoe. Also in the photo the heel portion of the sole looks thick and supportive. I bought them thinking they would be my go-to travel shoe. Wrong. This is not a comfortable shoe for extended wear. Short durations, OK. The main problem is that the sole is very thin and flexible in all directions. There is no, as in zero arch support, plus that thin heel means that you tend to rock back on your heels and it feels like you're pounding the pavement. I've worn once and I'm very disappointed. They look great, definitely high quality materials, but using them for the intended purpose of travel.... fah get about it. If you're looking for a good looking shoe to wear around the gym and you don't intend to use the treadmill, or elliptical, then this is the shoe you want. They would definitely be returned if I hadn't already worn them outside.

Waterproof perfect as travel fountain pen case
Awesome very small size waterproof bag. Purchased to use as a travel case for my fountain pens and ink (just in case). Although I have never had an ink accident, I wanted something compact enough to use in a small cross body bag without wasting space for the sake of an extra measure of assurance I wouldn't end up wearing my ink. NOTE, I do not use the disposable ink cartridges only adapters or dropper fill. So if I were to experience an ink mishap it would be more than just a tiny amount of permanent ink. The bag seems to be very well made. It is exactly as described, the only thing that may not be obvious is that the material is quite robust and there is no real give. So it works perfectly as a pencase and for a passport or smaller notebook. I would note recommend using it for something thick or round, like an apple or a larger size bottle of ink. However for a syringe full of ink along with half a dozen fountain pens it's superb! Will definitely buy again when need arises. This would also make for a great safe case for a smaller phone. However current flagship phones will not fit through the limiting zipper length. A future improvement of having the zipper go just around the corner to allow full length access would be an awesome improvement which would then be perfect for a newer model cell phone.
