SUPER TWEED is one of Fonty's iconic yarns. Composed of 95% fine wool, which provides softness and elasticity, and 5% Mohair fiber which gives a shiny appearance and loft, SUPER TWEED is a carded yarn with an extraordinary feel.
In the tweed family (yarns with small, intentionally random flecks of color), SUPER TWEED is unique on the market because it's the only one made from 100% natural fibers. Its colored buttons are made exclusively from dyed natural wool, unlike other tweeds. The main fiber is dyed as a roving before being spun into yarn, and the buttons are added to a pre-pigmented material. This process of dyeing the raw material rather than dyeing the yarn also allows for the creation of three subtly graduated colors with each dyeing pass, by diluting the dyed roving with undyed roving. This deliberate choice of a more demanding manufacturing method reduces the number of dyeing operations, and therefore their environmental impact, while ensuring consistent color combinations.
SUPER TWEED is a medium-weight, 2-ply yarn with a medium twist, knitted with size 5mm needles. Ideal for Aran sweaters, ribbing, and winter accessories, SUPER TWEED is versatile and suitable for all types of projects. This comfortable and classic yarn is machine washable (30-40°C) without spinning. Avoid machine washing. Flat drying is recommended.
