Who Am I? is a question at the centre of what it is to be human and for artist Kelcy Taratoa (Ng?i Te Rangi, Ng?ti Ranginui, Ng?ti Raukawa) it has formed the sub-ject of his painting for two decades. Kelcy Taratoa: Who Am I ?... Episode 001 is a bilingual English and Te Reo publication written by Warren Feeney and translated by H?ni Jacob (Ng?ti Raukawa). It traverses the artist’s life from growing up in the suburbs of Levin to Te Haka a Te Tupere, the artist’s wharenui at Rangiwaea marae in Tauranga Harbour. Through his paintings he contends that contemporary technology’s virtual realities and appetite for destruction and distraction is undermining our humanity and experience of the world. Yet painting, that most ancient means of visual communication, is something that continues to remind us of our humanness.

Very interesting and informative travel guide for kids!

I do not have a kid myself but got a chance to travel with my niece to Washington DC recently. I was worried about how I could keep her interest and excitement during the trip, (as you know it is not always easy to travel with the kid when you are not experienced) and I am lucky enough to have found this book. This book is like a normal travel guide but it is specially designed for kids, with a lot of fun games, interesting information, and colorful layout. It asks you to fill in information such as when did you go, where did you do, etc, which I think it can serve as a memory book for my niece and remind her the trip when she grows up. I will definitely purchase more travel guide from the same series!
