There's never a dull moment – audibly or aesthetically – with this Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Standard Reissue in a simply sweet VOS Tangerine Burst. 1960, one of Gibson's gold-plated years – particularly for the Les Paul – has an enduring legacy. This year's influence is still felt with wonderfully authentic and faithful models like the one before us today. Historically accurate sights and sounds make this Gibson Custom Shop piece a classic in and out of its time.

There's a total treasure trove waiting for you with a Gibson Custom Shop model like this. This all begins, like many great Les Paul stories before it, with a one-piece, lightweight, non-weight-relieved mahogany body. Meant to capture the authentic feel of a 1960 Les Paul Standard on the knee or over the shoulder, the mahogany singlecut body is a timeless element – the base that launched a thousand hits, so to speak. This authentic baseline element is then paired with its eternal partner-in-crime, a two-piece figured maple top. Though many Les Pauls series have flourished without the iconic maple cap, this striking 1960 recreation simply couldn’t bear the thought.

This Les Paul Standard body pairs the rich, resonant base of its mahogany with the top-end chirp of its maple with quality hide glue fit construction. From there, the body is decked in a luscious Gibson Custom Shop VOS nitrocellulose gloss finish. Meant to replicate the looks of an original Gibson gloss finish really only touched by the hands of time, this aged VOS finish inches the look of this guitar's cheery Tangerine Burst gently into a tastefully worn complexion.

Reaching out, this Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard features solid mahogany neck in a 60s SlimTaper profile. The famously slimmer 60s profile fits effortlessly in your grip and slips smoothly from lower to higher registers. An Indian rosewood fingerboard joins in at this juncture for an authentic Les Paul Standard feel on the fingers. Twenty-two Authentic Medium Jumbo frets line up along the board with aged cellulose nitrate Trapezoid inlays for that added vintage geometric element.

For its voice, the Gibson Custom Shop loaded in – what else – two Gibson Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers. Summoning that all-important humbucking warmth and clarity, the story told with these pickups is consistent with so many Gibsons of decades past – and oh, what a story it is. These Custombuckers are fitted with CTS 500K potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors for deep and expressive mixing through their tones.

This Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard backs up its sounds with a robust series of hardware specs. At the base of the scale, this Les Paul features a No-Wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and matching lightweight aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece. Grounding strings stably with nickel-plated brass saddles, this bridge and tailpiece combo is an icon just as much as anything else here. At the scale's opposite end, we're met with a number of smaller pieces including a nylon nut and Kluson tuning machines. This Gibson Custom Shop piece travels with an included Lifton Reissue five-latch case and a certificate of authenticity booklet.

A timeless piece from the Gibson Custom Shop, 1960 is alive and well – truly, worry not.

Very good book!
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed reading “Count my lucky stars”. It was a great sapphic romance - sweet, funny and entertaining. It was the last book in the series and it summed up all the three couples from the series perfectly. I really liked Margot and just the way she is and also I felt for Olivia because I am similar - I usually put other needs above my own. They were just great together - they balanced each other out. Very good read.

Great conclusion to this series!
Format: Paperback
Margot is sure that long-term relationships just aren't for her. Been there. Blew through the tissue box. Wrote the novel. Done that. All her friends found their life mate, and that makes social gatherings a bit awkward now, but it's fine, really. Even the wedding planning she's invited along to with her friends, that's cool. Well, it was, until Olivia, her long lost childhood friend, happens to be a wedding planner they run into. Margot and Olivia's first relationship didn't go so well, and Olivia has since been married and divorced. Margot thinks Olivia is still as much a beautiful goddess as ever, and opportunity knocks when Olivia is stranded with nowhere to go. Margot is happy to offer up a spare room, but even though she and Olivia are getting along swimmingly, and sparks are flying between them, is Olivia what she really wants? When their first voyage into the unknown was capsized, are they fated to be lost at sea once more, or will the stars guide them to a brighter future than they could ever have hoped for? I've followed the stars all the way to the end of the Written in the Stars trilogy, and what have I found? A trio of excellent stories about love, friendship, hardship, communication, and the self. Margot and Olivia make a fun and interesting second chance pairing, with Margot being the prickly pear, and Olivia being really sweet. Margot is rough around the edges partially because she has a difficult time trusting, which I understand, and that along with other factors compounds into miscommunication along the way. While this story can be read as a standalone, I think that readers who've partaken of the first two entries will have plenty to enjoy, with Brendon, Elle, and other favorites returning for their part in Margot and Olivia's story. Margot and Olivia have the opportunity for a second chance, but giving somebody you used to love a second chance is difficult, no? Margot asks a lot of Olivia, and I understand why, but in the end, love is all about taking that uncertain leap in hopes of landing together on your feet. Their intimate scenes are rather spicy, so don't expect anything closed door about their romance. Count Your Lucky Stars is the story of two girls who fell out of love doing their best to find each other again, and I'm counting my own lucky stars for having the pleasure of enjoying this story and these characters across an entire trilogy. Recommended for readers who believe in second chances, enjoy romance between disparate personalities, enjoy sapphic romance, and fans of this friend group's previous two stories, which I also recommend.
