Rocky's journey is a long and winding one. As first picked up by Harrison in a striking Sonic Blue finish, the original Rocky Stratocaster landed on Beatles tracks like "Ticket to Ride" and "Nowhere Man" with its iconic 1960s Fender tonality. This sound carried through into the experimental Sgt. Pepper's and Magical Mystery Tour eras, with Rocky even appearing in the 1967 live Our World "All You Need Is Love" telecast and the "I Am the Walrus" segment of the Magical Mystery Tour film. Through these years, Rocky received a fully custom hand-painted finish from Harrison to match the colorful decade. Rocky has since become a true Beatles artifact.
Today's George Harrison Rocky Stratocaster brings the vibrant '60s experience to life. The all-important Harrison paintjob is recreated to a tee with distinct markings across it and "Rocky" emblazoned on the headstock. This guitar simply wouldn't be authentic without it. Rocky is outfitted with vintage-style features including a '60s "C"-shaped maple neck, slab rosewood fingerboard, and six-saddle synchronized tremolo bridge. Three Fender Vintage-Style '60s Strat pickups produce the crystalline chime that made the guitars of the era so tonally irresistible. This Rocky model is limited to only 1000 pieces worldwide.
