He settled on a germanium/silicon hybrid circuit and matched transisters, to retain the low end most fuzz pedals lose. And began selling them on eBay.
With a boost of sales after a video of the Black Keys using the Hoof made it to the internet, the Hoof quickly became one of the most sought after Fuzz pedals.
